This is a big election year for the Denali Borough. New mayor and all new borough assembly and school board. All seats open. Filing deadline isn't until Sept. 14, but some candidates are already arranging meet-and-greets.

Healy resident reports Parks Hwy closed at Skinny Dick's at 7:30 p.m. tonight due to accident with multiple vehicles in convoy. Waiting on tow trucks, She said road could be closed for a few hours.

Cantwell School closed today due to snow - kind of. Not enough staff to clear emergency exits, so kids had a day of "virtual learning." Fewer than 10 students K-12 attend Cantwell School.

Healy's Tri-Valley High School Volleyball team took 2nd place at state, but they earned these fantastic honors: sportsmanship award, and the academic award for the highest cumulative GPA. Bravo!

About 30 vehicles showed up in North Pole Saturday night for a peaceful protest and light parade, supporting Christmas lights on vehicles. They support a DoorDash driver who received 6 tickets the past two weeks for lights on the roof of his car.

Cool "I Voted" stickers this year. I glanced at the lynx and thought it said, I Voted Bodily - meaning in person. Duh! BOLDLY!
