The results speak for themselves. Proud of the men and women of FDOT who continue to go above and beyond for their fellow Floridians.
When Hurricane Isaias hit, FDOT got to work! From quickly reopening major highways to clearing local roads and restoring critical infrastructure, FDOT teams wasted no time tackling the storm’s impacts.
Hear from @FDOT_Secretary Jared Perdue as he highlights the response and the results that followed.
The work that goes on in EOCs statewide is a major factor in our ability to respond to storms quickly and keep recovery efforts moving.
Many critical efforts happen behind the scenes and off the field during active storm prep and recovery.
FDOT team members began working in the state and regional Emergency Operations Centers (EOCs) across Florida before Isaias made landfall to monitor conditions and coordinate the deployment of recovery resources following the storm.
Extensive prep and planning goes a long way. These efforts really paid off and proved valuable through this recent storm.
Our drone teams prepare year-round to deploy as quickly as possible. One more tool we have to expedite the storm response.
A major effort to help ensure students have safe access to their bus stops as schools reopen.
Many of Florida's first responders were personally impacted by this storm, yet they continued to put their communities ahead of themselves. Thankful for their dedication to service and for @GovRonDeSantis' leadership to assist them in this way.

Storm recovery also means looking out for our furry friends.
While performing a bridge assessment drone mission in Okaloosa County for flooding of the Shoal River, our @MyFDOT_SEFL drone team spotted a baby white-tailed deer stranded in the flood water.
We called our partners @MyFWC who assisted us in getting the deer to safety!
Job well done by the OneFDOT team! Loved seeing our team come together to get this mission across the finish line.
All hands on deck from every corner of the state to finish cut and toss in Santa Rosa County.
Today, @FDOT_Secretary Jared Perdue joined our field crews after blitzing for the last 24 hours to get this job done quickly.
Getting people back to work, children back in school, and families back together is major part of storm recovery operations. By combining efforts with local and state agencies, we are working together to make a real difference for the communities who were impacted by the storm.
FDOT stands ready to help our local partners when they’re in need. To accelerate restoration efforts in Santa Rosa County, FDOT deployed over 500 personnel and over 100 pieces of equipment for cut and toss operations on local, rural roads. These teams continue to work nonstop to clear debris blocking roadways and help the community return to normal as quickly as possible.
Made a quick stop to see @MyFDOT crews while visiting the impacted areas from the storm. Grateful for team members who are willing to drop everything and serve their communities like these cut and toss crews. Appreciate all the state agencies working around the clock for Floridians.
Today, @FDOT_Secretary Jared Perdue and Chief Operations Officer Will Watts visited our Milton Operations team. Following any storm, our FDOT front line crews are often the first boots on the ground to impacted areas and are key players during response efforts.
Truly impressed by the magnitude of work our @MyFDOT crews accomplish when disaster strikes. In under 16 hours, they repaired and reopened access to this state park road washed out by #Isaias. Working alongside @FLDEPNews and our local partners, we are able to do what matters most: Getting our communities back in shape after a disaster.

As #Isaias nears the Gulf Coast, Governor Ron DeSantis has directed the suspension of tolls on Mid-Bay Bridge and Spence Parkway in Okaloosa County and Garcon Point Bridge in Santa Rosa County to facilitate evacuations out of the storm’s direct path.
