ALT The European Federation of Tourist Guide Associations (FEG) represents the tourist guide profession in Europe, as a body of over 60,000 qualified tourist guides, members of their national federations or associations. Our aim is to make a difference to the future of the profession and life-long training. The current membership – now uniting 28 national associations together – can all testify to the considerable achievements of the last 37 years, which would not have been possible without the dedicated support of tourist guides throughout Europe since its foundation in 1987 with only a handful of members. FEG promotes and protects the profession of tourist guide within Europe, not least when dealing with bodies representing different aspects of the European Commission, we have come to realize that it is essential for tourist guides to speak with one voice. FEG has become that voice and continues to work for increased recognition of the qualified tourist guide.
