Two rewarding days in Washington, D.C. with Finland’s Honorary Consuls from across the United States. 🇫🇮🇺🇸
Thank you for your continued commitment and efforts in advancing Finland-U.S. relations and strengthening the ties between our people.

Today, we continue our cooperation with Finland – and very substantively. We are working comprehensively with the Government of Finland – with Prime Minister @PetteriOrpo. Thank you for this cooperation and for this level of relations between our countries. We have a new support package for Ukraine from Finland – and, in addition, agreements that expand our opportunities for cooperation. Seven documents have been signed – the total value of today's agreements is €300 million.
We agreed to make greater use of Finland's satellite capabilities – this is important for our defense and Ukraine's resilience. We reached agreements on this with Nokia and ICEYE. Thank you for your readiness to support our logistics and energy sector – these are Russia's key targets right now. And having more locomotives, more energy equipment, and more funding to protect energy infrastructure will really help.
A pleasure to meet with Fulbright alumni and hear about their experiences and the connections they have built between Finland and the United States.
These exchanges create opportunities to learn from one another and build lasting connections.
Celebrating 100 years of the American Swedish Historical Museum.
Delighted to attend the Centennial Gala and join @SwedeninUSA for a conversation on culture, Nordic values, and heritage.
Congratulations to @americanswedish on this milestone, and cheers to the next 100 years!
Productive visit to Washington State! Excellent discussions with key partners. Finland and Washington have so much in common: a love of nature, a drive for innovation, and a commitment to sustainability. 🌳
Together with @GovBobFerguson we renewed the partnership between 🇫🇮 and Washington. I look forward to deepening our excellent cooperation in maritime industries, clean energy, and advanced technologies, and exploring new areas of collaboration, including defense.
Standing with the Ukrainian people in their fight for freedom and peace is not only a matter of solidarity, but simply the right thing to do.
Spoke with @ZelenskyyUa.
Three key elements urgent: air defence, energy installations and financial assistance.
Finland announced its 35th support package yesterday. Air defence as key component.
We are doing everything we can to protect Ukrainian civilians.
A great honor to accept @cepa's Global Impact Award on behalf of President @alexstubb.
President Stubb was recognized for his important contributions to international security and prosperity. Even as the world around us changes, transatlantic ties will remain as vital as ever.
F-35 arrival ceremony in Rovaniemi today.
F-35s strengthen 🇫🇮's defense & role as a security provider—and symbolize our close defense cooperation with the US. From production in TX to pilot training in AR to arriving in Rovaniemi, it's a mutual investment in collective security.

🇫🇮 President of Finland @alexstubb says, “There are a lot of people who are extremely worried about the transatlantic partnership right now—I am less so.”
“The transatlantic partnership is not going to die,” he adds.

Today's MoU signed by Minister @elinavaltonen and @CAgovernor Newsom signals closer ties between Finland and California.
We look forward to mutual growth and innovation in shared priorities, such as tech, aerospace and defense, research, forest bioeconomy, and more. 🇫🇮🇺🇸
New drone deal between Finland and Ukraine signed today in New York.
The agreement supports Ukraine’s defense while strengthening Finland’s capabilities and defense industry.
Finland and Ukraine take their defence cooperation to the next level
Today, we signed a drone deal with @ZelenskyyUa. The agreement enables, among other things, the joint production of defence materiel. Defence sector companies in Finland are ready, and the joint effort can now get fully under way.
Ukraine needs all our support in its fight. At the same time, the cooperation is mutually beneficial. By learning from Ukraine’s experience, we are strengthening our own capabilities.

It’s always great to have President @AlexStubb visiting the U.S. This time, he returned to @FurmanU, his alma mater, for an uplifting conversation with Gen. Joshua Rudd on “America and the World.” A fitting occasion to highlight the warm ties between Finland and South Carolina.

The facility will meet critical needs across Finland & NATO and enable long-term support for Ukraine. 🇺🇸 is contributing $20M to the project, underscoring our close defense cooperation.

The defence partnership between Finland and France is deepening.
Our cooperation took a significant step forward this summer when France announced its contribution of troops to NATO’s Forward Land Forces in Finland. Today, we took a new step forward as Finland joined the French forward deterrence initiative.
The initiative is first and foremost about strengthening European security. It reinforces Europe’s responsibility for its own defence and helps prevent escalation.
The French initiative does not replace or overlap with NATO’s nuclear deterrence. Finland’s foremost priority is to act as part of NATO and the European Union.
Finland does not intend to station nuclear weapons on its territory in peacetime.
A lovely evening at the residence welcoming the new Ambassadors of @SwedeninUSA and @Estonia_in_US. Our closest neighbours and good friends.
Looking forward to working together on the many things we share!
