// @johnson_mugwe "As part of our continued efforts to combat the theft of livestock and curb the illegal trade in animal products in the Bukedi South Region, Police yesterday conducted an intelligence-led operation targeting butcheries suspected of dealing in stolen animals and selling meat without the required inspection stamps. The operation followed a series of investigations in which Police canine teams, using sniffer dogs, had identified and led investigators to several butcheries suspected to be handling meat from stolen animals. However, some operators reportedly abandoned their premises upon noticing the presence of the canine teams, making it difficult for investigators to apprehend them.
