Fordham Prep Christian Service Immersion Trips

One final goodbye from TN5 and incoming @FordhamPrep Student Government President Ryan Malloy ’27.

June ➡️ August Are you an alum or parent of an alum who made a trip to Tennessee? The program relies on friends and family. If you’re able, please consider making a donation- fordhamprep.org/faith/sevice…

On the 🚌 again! Quick stop for breakfast and the much anticipated return of the 📱.

To commemorate their TN5 trip, the group created this “leave behind” for the volunteer cabin. Countless games of ping pong were played in the cabin after work at the site was done for the day.

As the group prepares to head back to New York, tonight’s reflection focused on the week we spent together. The students’ journals will be turned in this Fall as part of the service class requirements.

All smiles at the last dinner together for TN5 at RaeZacks.

As the week comes to a close, Niccolo and Michael retire the flags outside the volunteer cabin for the final time this summer.

One final timelapse from the week!

This summer marks 25 years of friendship between Appalachia Habitat’s Executive Director Haley Terry and FP’s Coordinator of Christian Service Immersion Program Nelson Ritter ’96. Every participant of the trips over the years has benefited from their leadership.

Work ✅ Ice cream earned.

The walls for the shed are coming together, and will be left for the Habitat staff to complete next week. With that, we’re off to lunch!

Happy Friday! The team is working on the shed for the house. First up, a solid foundation.

In 2014, FP built a house for the son of Jerry and Peggy Frogge. Since then, they have opened their farm to every FP group for a BBQ, fishing, football and other games. We’re very thankful for their hospitality over the years.

Happy birthday to our master carpenter/chef/chaperon Dan Delaney FP ‘12. Since 2019, Dan has done two trips back to back each summer to support Fordham Prep and Habitat.

To prepare for our final day at the house site, the team started working on the base for the shed that will be built next to the 🏠.

Living simply is a theme of the Christian Service Immersion Program. In Tennessee, that means PBJ sandwiches for lunch.

More progress at the Habitat office as the history display is curated and the conference setup is complete. Before and after pictures tell the story of how much work was done this week!

A few 🐇 🎥 from the day.

More progress on siding and other projects at the house today!

The team at the Habitat office was hard at work on day 3. They also learned what burnable CDs look like!
