I know many of you have excellent Twitter accounts, strong opinions, and different political perspectives. I respect that. But I want to make one thing clear: Canada has a very special place in my heart. My love and connection with Canada go back a long way. I have admired Mark Carney since his days as a banker, even before he entered public office. I always try to express my views honestly and speak about what I genuinely believe. Of course, you are absolutely entitled to disagree with me, and you should be. Healthy disagreement is part of a democratic society. I also disagree with some of my own country's leaders on certain issues, but that does not mean I disrespect them. Disagreement is not disrespect. I strongly believe that we should respect every leader, whether in Canada or any other country, regardless of our political differences. Criticism is perfectly acceptable, but insults, abusive language, and personal attacks have no place in a respectful conversation. My humble request to all of you: Please respect my choice, my views, and my admiration for Canada and its leadership, just as I respect yours. Let's disagree with dignity, debate with intelligence, and treat one another with respect.
