What would a fully funded and thriving Community College of Philadelphia look like??? What would it take to get CCP to truly be a valued— even bragged about— part of Philadelphia community? What would it look like for city gov and citizens to fully fight for our students?

In the new Congress, we must absolutely stop the immediate harms of this admin. But we were elected to enact change, not return to the status quo. People were struggling before Trump. We must govern with people-centered policies. Working people entrusted us to change the conditions that brought us here in the first place, not restore them.

Can we properly fund higher education in PA. It's pathetic that going out of state is similar cost to in state tuition for Pennsylvania's sons and daughters.

How did so many people get convinced that their own tax money shouldn't fund healthcare, housing, and a safety net that helps them?

All that wealth being generated in the stock market? It was built on the backs of working people. We deserve to afford rent, buy groceries, see a doctor, raise a family and retire without fear. That's not asking too much. It's the bare minimum in the world's richest country.

Something to note here: the plan for Treasury to hire private debt collectors to go after student debt would probably be very illegal. The federal government cannot prove many of these debts as legally permissible or collectible. We need lawsuits filed quick.
Trump aides are preparing to impose financial penalties on millions of Americans in default on their federal student loans next year The plans are unlikely to be announced before the midterm elections, according to this report washingtonsun.com/economy/tr…

Loan Servicer: "Your monthly student loan payment is $520." You: "Great. I’ve paid $520 every single month for 7 years straight. $43,680 total." Loan Servicer: "Correct." You: "So my initial $38,000 principal is paid off, right?" Loan Servicer: "No, your balance is currently $41,500 due to accumulated interest and capitalization." You: "I paid almost $44,000 on a $38,000 loan and I owe MORE than when I started?" Loan Servicer: "You paid the interest required to keep your account current. The principal was never fully covered." You: "Can I declare bankruptcy like a failed corporation?" Loan Servicer: "No. Federal law makes student loans exceptionally difficult to discharge." You didn't take out an education loan. You signed a lifetime garnishment agreement designed to collect interest for years without making a meaningful dent in the balance.
