I hear it all the time: "Why don't TPS holders just adjust their status?" The fact is, it isn't that simple for many TPS holders and other immigrants. The requirement that forces many immigrants to abandon their lives for a decade before coming back to the U.S. is just one of the many barriers that keep families in limbo.
