This isn’t right. We maintain that all staff doing union work should be in the union, & deserve the same rights under our contract.

This has led to the displacement of one BU organizer with a non-BU organizer, creating a two-tiered system where organizers do not receive equal rights as their teammates, but are expected to carry out the same work.

One week ago—with half an hour of notice given to the union, and in the midst of bargaining for our second contract—the National Women’s Law Center announced it would be eliminating 20% of staff, laying off 32 of our colleagues (including 21 members of our unit).
