Listen in to Local Lens with Sheldon MacLeod on FX101.9 tomorrow at noon.
This week: Traffic jams, bike lanes, affordable housing. There are lots of things that have people riled up these days.
But our next guest has been talking about the 200 million dollar widening of robie Street and the loss of 70 affordable homes in HRM.
Peggy Cameron will be joining us to discuss how the HRM housing market is suffering the same fate as global real estate.

On October 20, 1803: Halifax Town Clock on Citadel Hill officially began operating, marking the beginning of its long history as one of Halifax’s most cherished landmarks. The iconic clock has inspired writers and storytellers throughout the years. In 1836, the Honourable Joseph Howe penned a lengthy poem titled “To the Town Clock,” celebrating its significance. The clock’s legacy was further immortalized by William C. Borrett in his book series Tales Told Under the Old Town Clock, which was also heard on CHNS radio. The historic clock even endured the Halifax Explosion on December 6, 1917. Although it briefly stopped at the time of the devastating blast, it was quickly repaired and returned to service.
More than two centuries later, the Old Town Clock remains a proud symbol of Halifax’s history, resilience, and enduring spirit.
