Universal healthcare, affordable education, abolishing capital punishment, and the UBI could gain an entirely new political constituency. 🇺🇸 American Republicans: More natural resources, greater energy security, a larger domestic economy, and a stronger North American industrial base. That’s an enormous opportunity for economic growth and self-sufficiency. Canada would gain representation in the world’s most powerful political system. Americans would gain a massive new economic and strategic partner within their union. We can argue about sovereignty forever. But perhaps the better question is this. Here is the question my fellow Canadians. Do you want a lower dollar, worse economy, and 15 million more immigrants to compete over whatever jobs are left? Forced vaccinations? The Bishnoi gang threatening the RCMP to not interfere with their extortion operations, and the RCMP staying silent? Leave your keys at the front door for robbers, and if you defend yourself we charge the homeowner? Or, Do you want the Constitution, a strong dollar, strong integrated North American economy, castle doctrine, and the most seats in congress? It’s time to stop fucking around, Canada. 🇨🇦🇺🇸 Sovereignty isn’t a parliamentary stamp on a piece of paper. It’s logistical independence, the ability to sustain yourself, defend yourself, produce what you need, and maintain leverage over your trading partners. If another country can bring you to your knees simply by applying economic pressure, how sovereign are you really? We’ve spent decades living off nostalgia for the Canada of the 90s while watching our economy, affordability, and public safety deteriorate. Even a barbarian like myself, who regularly criticizes the American police state, has to question Canada’s inability to contain organized crime, carjackings, extortion, and a deteriorating economy. The Bishnoi gang is out here writing letters to the RCMP demanding they step aside while they extort businesses. I wonder if anyone would have the balls to do that with the FBI? And look at Greenland. Washington secured expanded strategic access without Greenlanders gaining a single vote in Congress. As the 51st state, Canada would become one of the most populous states in the Union, with substantial representation in Congress and influence over domestic and foreign policy. If you hate what America is doing, that’s all the more reason to have a vote where it matters. America’s decisions will affect us whether we join or not.
