Sedating a child with “cold”—features of airway infection — is one of the most technically demanding pediatric anesthesia procedures in resource-poor environments.
Before seating a child for an MRI, both the anesthetists and the radiology team must understand that there are two-in-one tasks ahead. Two tasks that are conflicting in one procedure.
The radiology team would want a child who is very calm and still so as to produce the best quality images. They try to achieve this by placing the child in the “MRI chamber,” beyond the immediate reach or communication range of the anesthetist. But the anesthetists want a child who is healthy, potentially active and communicative throughout the procedure.
Two or three drug options are often available for sedation in such environments. Keramine, midazolam or propofol-based. Ketamine and propofol are like words and opposites in the art of pediatric sedation. Ketamine sedates moderately and preserves the airway and reflexes—the child continues to breathe normally on his own, while also ensuring his airway does not get blocked by anything including his own saliva and airway secretions. One would think this is the best option if a child had to be sent into an enclosed chamber for an investigation after the sedation. But children don't usually keep still or calm while on ketamine.
Ketamine has a side effect that has to do with dissociative symptoms. The child remains aware of his environment while under sedation—aware of being enclosed in a chamber—and feels he is emerging out of his body. Such a child would naturally refuse to stay calm without movements, a condition that is all-necessary if the radiologist must take good images. Many times, the whole procedure would have to be abandoned if the child continues to move in agitation.
Propofol on the other hand is a magical drug of sedation. As soon as it is injected, everything changes rapidly in the child. He sleeps very deeply, as if he has missed his sleep for two weeks, and unlike ketamine, propofol also causes muscle relaxation and calmness which is an advantage for the MRI procedures. However, propofol causes loss of airway reflexes, respiratory depression or even an overt respiratory arrest.
Loss of airway reflexes means even when the child is breathing normally, he may become drowned (aspiration) in his own saliva/airway secretions while sleeping (being sedated) with propofol. Either respiratory depression or the loss of airway reflexes (aspiration) in a sedated child can quickly result in low blood oxygen levels and brain injury in children who are not closely monitored.
This is why any child under propofol sedation must be CONTINUALLY monitored till they are FULLY AWAKE, which is about one hour after the last injection. You must have the means to continually monitor the SPO2 (oxygen saturation in the blood), the heart rate, and the blood pressure. Otherwise, you may have a dead child in your hand in just ten minutes of no monitoring.
But we know that some resource-poor centres in Africa still sedate people (kids) without proper monitoring. This is a wake-up call for parents to ask questions about how their kids' oxygen saturation, blood pressure and heart rate would be monitored before they are subjected to any form of sedation.
It is always a painful thing when a child suffers an avoidable injury or death, especially when everything happens rapidly.
May the Lord console this family and grant them the fortitude to bear the loss.

Growing on social media in 2026 requires one shift.
I learned it while growing 100,000+ followers on 4 different platforms.
Across platforms, my accounts now stand at:
• Facebook: 670,000+
• X (Twitter): 300,000+
• Instagram: 130,000+
• TikTok: Two accounts over 100,000
What actually worked had nothing to do with what many gurus charge thousands for.
If you apply what I am about to share, your influence will grow in 2026.
1.Nobody cares about you.
They care about what your content does for them.
Stop starting videos with "Welcome to my channel, my name is..."
Lead with value. Name comes last.
Your audience is asking "What's in this for ME?" in the first 3 seconds.
Answer that question or they scroll.
Pro tip:
Speak to one person, not an audience.
My biggest videos felt like I was talking to my younger sibling.
Use a lot of “you” in your content.
2. Stories move people. Data just convinces them.
The Quran and Bible use stories to talk to us.
The framework is simple: Hook, Story, Action
• No hook? You lose attention.
• No story? You don’t move anyone.
Stories earn trust.
Trust earns followers.
Pro tip:
If you sell anything, make it visible on your profile.
Nothing hurts more than going viral…
…and your profile has nowhere to go next.
3. Growth demands emotional resilience.
I still read negative comments.
I still feel them.
But if opinions stop you, growth never starts.
Every meaningful voice attracts resistance.
That is the price of visibility.
So buckle up.
Pro Tip: Whenever I join a platform:
I follow the biggest accounts
Turn on notifications
Add value early in the comments
When they like or reply, I get visibility for free.
Attention compounds when you are useful.
I will be holding a FREE masterclass on the exact growth system I used to build over 1.4M followers on all platforms.
Comment INTERESTED and I will send you the link when it is live.

This has to happen. It's as simple as that. There are 200 million of us and a few thousand US puppets eating our futures.
We will kill them, or they will kill us.
It is that simple.

Enoch Adeboye spent 27 years of his life studying Mathematics, and obtained a PhD in Additional Mathematics (specialising in Hydrodynamics).
His PhD dissertation focused on Navier-Stoke Equation at the University of Lagos, Nigeria.
If you’re with us in global climate modeling and statistical downscaling, you will know that Navier-Stoke Equation is not a joke.
When he was young, Adeboye wanted to become a professor and rise to Vice Chancellorship at a young age. He bagged 1st Class in his Bachelor’s degree. Distinction in Master’s Degree.
He was a lecturer when ministry happened. He built the largest Pentecostal denomination in the world, with global coverage. The church has over 500 parishes in the USA alone.
Pastor Enoch Adeboye is the Chancellor of Redeemer University. He holds honorary citizenship in Maryland, Dallas and Massachusetts, USA.
The octogenarian has preached and planted churches in more than 140 nations of the world.
It takes a lot of management and administration to pull such behemoth movement and command global respect.
It’s good to remind ourselves the colossus we have with us in Nigeria. Intellectual honesty allows you to acknowledge greatness regardless of your sentiments.
let's give him his flowers

This week, Buju now known as BNXN took us through a maths class and explained to us how much artists make when they have 1 Million streams on Apple Music.
1 Million streams (Apple Music) = $7500
1 Million streams (Spotify) = $5500
If this is the case, Portable should have finished paying for his G-Wagon nowww, instead of jumping fence, trying to dodge the police.
Also I see why Kizz Daniel is releasing single every eke market day.
Let me call Don Jazzy, let me see what he can do for me, musically wise.

Today is Champions League Final between Real Madrid and Borussia Dortmund. Ladies that don't watch football, ask for anything you want from 7.45 PM. Don't relent because Bobo won't hear anything you're saying, he'll ask you to simply go ahead.
Let me warn you ahead, most Nigerians are supporting Real Madrid and over confidence want to injure them right now, so in case Real Madrid loses, get ready for a long long night of whining and analysing.
All the best o, I'm talking to the ladies.

Former United Stated President, Donald Trump has been found guilty on all counts in his criminal trial, becoming the first former or sitting president to be CONVICTED of a crime. Trump has been released without having to pay bail.
I wanted to argue with someone pe, one day this will happen in Nigeria but as I continued to read and saw that Trump could still continue to run for presidency, I gave up. Someone even donated 300,000usd to his campaign the day he was found guilty on all counts.

So many things happened this week, even as I'm on holiday like this, I have to speak my mind on some these ridiculousness.
Let's get to the most ridiculous of them all shall we? The National Anthem Bill 2024 quickly passed through the Senate on Children’s Day, President Tinubu approved the new law bringing back Nigeria's old national anthem, "Nigeria, We Hail Thee."
Bovi said maybe we will go back to the days of Bendel state and we will go back to spending pounds then Prince Charles will just come and take over again.
Abi? Since we are all going back to the days of old.
We said "Bring back our girls," nobody passed bill on that one, we said take the Naira back to N1-1/dollar, the govt said they're working on it that we should wait fess but our government brought back the old National Anthem written by the English and dumped the one written by a Nigerian so fast, you would think they were normally that efficient.
Ah tor!
National pledge nko bayi? Are we not changing that one?
