Thank Memphis DA Steve Mulroy for being an honorable man for Memphis and not just select citizens. The city of Memphis was clear who they wanted and voted for you and no one will change that. #ThePeoplesChamp 🔐👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽

Here's what you saw Friday across a street from the courts and jail at 201 Poplar in Downtown Memphis. It represents policing in Memphis: born in Jim Crow, without transparency and a blight on city.

USPS’ plan to only send mail-in ballots to voters registered with the federal government violates a court-enforced settlement from 2021, a new motion argues. The NAACP is asking a federal court to block USPS from implementing the rule, which could result in eligible voters being denied ballots. democracydocket.com/news-ale…

What happened in the State of Tennessee was the largest and swiftest disenfranchisement of Black people that we've seen in at least a century. It's on all of us to organize, mobilize, and participate in bigger numbers than their maps account for.

Today’s Supreme Court decision effectively guts a key pillar of the Voting Rights Act, freeing state legislatures to gerrymander legislative districts to systematically dilute and weaken the voting power of racial minorities - so long as they do it under the guise of “partisanship” rather than explicit “racial bias.” And it serves as just one more example of how a majority of the current Court seems intent on abandoning its vital role in ensuring equal participation in our democracy and protecting the rights of minority groups against majority overreach. The good news is that such setbacks can be overcome. But that will only happen if citizens across the country who cherish our democratic ideals continue to mobilize and vote in record numbers - not just in the upcoming midterms or in high profile races, but in every election and every level.

Oh really? @AGTennessee says "policy disagreements belong at the ballot box, not in the courtroom." Memphis didn't vote for the National Guard, or a school takeover, or gun deregulation. Republicans have ignored the ballot box. The courts are keeping hope for democracy alive.
Major victory for public safety in Memphis! 🛡️ The TN Court of Appeals has upheld a fundamental principle: policy disagreements belong at the ballot box, not in the courtroom. This ruling ensures the TN National Guard can continue its vital support of the Memphis Safe Task Force in the fight against violent crime. ➡️ Read more: tn.gov/attorneygeneral/news/…

This is unacceptable. Brent Taylor is evil and his views are racist
WATCH: “Would he be the 1st D.A. Removed when crime is DOWN?”🤔 @SenBrentTaylor admits he & @MarshaBlackburn are plotting against MEMPHIS D.A. @SteveMulroy901 — who Marsha plans to go after if she’s governor… even as Trump goes to Memphis to take credit for crime being DOWN.🤔 (Note: The *stats* Taylor cites about Mulroy letting violent criminals walk are disputed)

Look at all these racist people. Blacks? 🤷🏾‍♀️This is what these yt legislators and there bought media are comfortable calling us the N WORD ON SOCIAL MEDIA
“Young people”= out of control blacks wreaking havoc on downtown and shooting bystanders for fun. Guns as a form of conflict resolution is low IQ activity. Fucking Memphis @POTUS don’t let them lie to you. We NEED the task force.

Replying to @BrentTaylorTN
As a great President said, "There he goes again." The Memphis task force was announced on September 15, to the surprise of the lead FBI agent in Memphis, who had been coordinating a law enforcement surge since April. The task force did not become active until early October, so it operated for only three months in 2025. The senator's numbers combine 2025 figures with 2024—when there was no idea of a task force. The senator desperately needs to justify squandering tax dollars, disrupting small businesses, and needlessly intimidating a large number of citizens. Just like Denver, Birmingham, Baltimore, and other cities, Memphis and the MPD, FBI, and federal agencies were already well into successfully reducing crime. His whining at the Capitol for theater and self-aggrandizement came at the expense of the city and its leadership. It is important in planning to know what works and what does not. The constant crowing obfuscates the real cause and effect. Seems like a common issue lately.
