Being in Manchester tonight - looking through restaurant windows I am sure that people are socialising with others when they shouldn’t be. Tough I know but I wish people would follow the rules.

So many companies are so kindly offering discounts to #NHSstaff as part of #NHSThankYou. It’s really, really kind, but a lot of us more senior staff don’t need it and have a good guaranteed income. Can I nominate a self employed musician/artist to have mine?

Conductor Richard Hickox would have been a mere 72 today. Wonderful man - the perpetual overgrown schoolboy, perennially enthusiastic, excited, friendly, who so loved music and life. I used to enjoy teasing him. 'F-f-f-uck off,' he'd respond, chuckling. Still so much missed.
