'The Rings of Power' showrunners J.D. Payne and Patrick McKay describe Sauron as "Full-Metal Sauron" in Season 3 "In the past few seasons, Sauron has been operating a little bit in the shadows. But this season, he’s not pretending to be Halbrand. He’s not Annatar this season. He’s the guy wearing the black leather in the big dark tower of Barad-dûr. He’s making the One Ring." Jamie Dornan on feeling the pressure of playing Aragorn in 'The Hunt for Gollum' film but has no intention of trying to outdo Viggo Mortensen. "There’s pressure when you’re trying to follow in those footsteps. I’ve been asked to play a super iconic role, and I’ll do my best. But for me, Aragorn will always be just Viggo. His performance is one of my all-time favorites, and I feel honored to try to recapture at least some of the energy he originally brought to the character. There’s no part of me that’s trying to outdo him." (via: variety.com/2026/film/news/h…)

The social embargo lifted after a press screening of 'The Rings of Power' Season 3 episodes 1 and 2. Chris Killian (ComicBook): "I’ve seen the first couple episodes of The Rings of Power S3 and no spoilers, but the first 2 episodes are bangers and this series is getting better and better as it goes on. Charlie Vickers as Sauron is a highlight, he just oozes evil." Rotem Rusak (Nerdist): "Season 3, Eps 1 & 2 are AMAZING. I have been a huge fan of The Rings of Power throughout, but the start of this season is not only some of the series’ best work, but TV’s best. I love every character; Marnûkh is my child. Tune in for this, folks!" Fay Watson (GamesRadar+): "The first episode of #TheRingsofPower season 3 is epic in every sense of the world. Charlie Vickers steals the show as Sauron, almost at the height of his powers, relishing in every villainous smirk. The scale and stakes already have me thinking this could be the best season yet."
