Another real threat to Africa lies here. These are people who have become rich without “the fruits of their labor”, unlike the rest of the world. They continue to believe that one can live in opulence by exploiting its natural resources, but above all, by exploiting those they consider subhuman.
Now they are involved in all the political conflicts in Africa, where they create more problems than solutions. The cases of Sudan, Congo, and Chad are examples of their malevolence. Cheick Anta Diop was right: next to western colonialism is Arab colonialism.
Diop viewed Arab colonialism as a form of domination superposed on European colonialism, with negative consequences for Africa, notably through the imposition of new religious beliefs and the disruption of pre-existing African cultural ties.
For him, Islam, with its culture and language, was a force of conquest and assimilation that contributed to weakening African civilizations. As always, religion is once more used to divide Africans! What a shame!

Property taxes need to be abolished.
It means you can never really own your property. It’s insane.
The American right has been trained to oppose any and all taxes, but this is a terrible idea.
We must have taxes, and the distorting effects of property tax are far less than alternatives like income tax. Right now, America is crumbling apart because young people can’t afford homes while all wealth is accumulating to the old. Removing property taxes means higher taxes on working young people and higher home prices to the advantage of retirees, who are already America’s richest cohort.
Do property taxes mean some people have to downsize when their income drops? Yes — no policy makes everyone a winner (also, people who pay rent or a mortgage already have to do the same thing). But America has been a country revolving around the well-being of the elderly for decades. We need policies that help the young or we’ll end up with President Mamdani (by one name or another).
