Please keep in your prayers a very good Dutch Bishop, +Rob Mutsaerts, who was injured in a serious car accident while returning from hearing confessions. May Our Lady of Fatima, whose feast we celebrate tomorrow, intercede for him and bring swift healing. 🙏 infovaticana.com/en/2026/05/…

“There is no split in the personality of a public figure: There is not, on one side, the politician and, on the other, the Christian. Rather, there is a politician who, under God’s gaze and before his conscience, lives his commitments and responsibilities as a Christian!” — Pope Leo XIV to Catholic politicians on Wednesday Aug. 28. ncregister.com/cna/pope-leo-…

If Assisted Dying is really "about shortening death, not shortening life" as @kimleadbeater and @dignityindying keep saying, can they please accept that the guillotine is the most effective way of achieving this for patients? Much shorter deaths than by medical poisoning.
As we await the publication of the Assisted Dying Bill, I would like to make the case that the guillotine should be considered as the most effective and humane method of helping our patients. Please bear with me...🧵

Normally recited following Benediction of the Blessed Sacrament, the Divine Praises may also be recited anytime as a prayer of reparation for blasphemy and profanity.

I don’t know if deciding to no longer feature Rupnik’s art on the Vatican website would show closeness to victims of abuse, but I do know that continuing to feature it suggests callousness if not outright contempt.
Ruffini to @Guzik_Paulina: "This is not the way to be close to the victims, to think that if I pull away a photo of an art from my website, our website, I would be more close to victims. Do you think so?... Really? You think so? Well, I think you’re wrong."

Check out the SUB TUUM PRAESIDIUM which is before 300 AD. It speaks of "glorious and blessed Virgin". All Christians, Church Fathers, legendary thinkers and Saints, prayed like this for 1500 years. Until some suddenly didn't any more.

Fr. Tim Finigan (@FatherTF) is writing a book about Death, Judgment, Heaven, and Hell. It would be an ambitious undertaking for any writer, but especially so for this English priest who has suffered a dramatic series of blows to his health. pillarcatholic.com/what-are-…

Today’s Times editorial rightly excoriates the Vatican for its “shocking” failure to support Hong Kong’s Cardinal Zen or those persecuted by the CCP for their faith - including Uyghurs. The Vatican’s Concordat with the CCP is at best naïve and at worst a gross betrayal.

Clear words of solidarity and prayer by 🇭🇺 Hungarian Cardinal Péter Erdö and the Catholic church in Hungary towards the suffering Church in Nicaragua. Erdö: The "experiences of the past" make us Hungarians even more sensitive of what it means to be persecuted for your faith.
