The next Fearless Agility CSPO workshop starts November 3.
If you're ready to stop treating Product Ownership like ticket administration, come practice the decisions that matter: customers, value, trade-offs and outcomes.
Live, interactive, and decidedly not death by PowerPoint.

Fearless After Hours: I had a billion-dollar idea for Diet Mountain Dew. JIMIS had concerns. 🥤
Every visionary needs someone willing to check the science—and locate the fire extinguisher.

I'm not saying I like working with machine intelligence coding agents for pair programming #XP better than human partners... but I'm not NOT saying it.
Pair programming. Plausible deniability. 😉

FEARLESS AFTER HOURS
My father is an Anglican priest. I am an atheist. I shared this imaginary conversation with my mother.
I can appreciate the wisdom in religious texts without believing their supernatural claims. And if I turn out to be wrong? I have a few questions.
Peter: Name?
Me: Jimi. And before we start, I have some questions about your admission criteria.
Peter: Naturally.
Me: I appreciated a lot of the wisdom. Love your neighbor. Feed people. Don’t let money own you. But I couldn’t honestly say I believed the supernatural claims.
Peter: Why not?
Me: The evidence didn’t convince me. Pretending otherwise would have been dishonest.
Peter: And what did you do with the parts that did convince you?
Me: Tried to put them into practice. Sometimes well. Sometimes spectacularly badly.
Peter: Tell me about the badly.
Me: How much time have you got?
Peter: You’re going to hate the answer.
Me: Eternity. Right. Look, I could be impatient. I hurt people. Sometimes I was so busy explaining why I was right that I missed what someone needed.
Peter: Did you ever recognize that?
Me: Eventually. Tried to repair things. Didn’t always manage it.
Peter: Neither did I.
Me: You denied knowing him three times.
Peter: Yes. It makes conducting these interviews a delicate business.
Me: So was I wrong about God?
Peter: Apparently.
Me: Fair enough. New evidence. I’m updating my position.
Peter: Come in.
Me: One last thing. Is there a reason the streets are paved with gold? Given everything he said about wealth, that feels like a branding problem.
A PBI isn’t a mini-contract or task list. It’s a placeholder for a conversation about a slice of outcome—small enough to learn from and reorder as evidence changes. If your backlog feels like a requirements warehouse, ask what each item is helping you learn. #Scrum Learn with us.
DEEP THOUGHT: Vibe coding did not kill Product Management. It just lets you discover much faster whether you had a product idea—or merely a prompt. Shipping faster does not make the customer problem appear.
LAST CHANCE: Certified Scrum Product Owner® starts tomorrow, October 17.
Product ownership isn't about keeping a backlog full. It's about making better decisions about what creates value—and what not to build.
Join us live October 17–18 for hands-on CSPO training.

The annual reminder that professionalism comes in many forms.
Happy holidays from Fearless Agility. 🔥
Refinement is not a meeting where the Product Owner reads tickets aloud. It is ongoing work to make the next important PBIs understood enough to solve. If the meeting creates detail but not shared understanding, stop adding detail.
Product Owners: your job isn't keeping developers busy.
It's deciding what creates value—and what doesn't deserve to be built.
Join Fearless Agility's next live CSPO workshop, November 3. No slide-deck marathon. Real decisions, real practice.

Make Daily Scrum better: start with the Sprint Goal, not the people. Ask: What changed? Are we still on track? What do we change in today’s plan? Then stop. No roll call. No reporting to the Scrum Master.
Anti-pattern: a backlog with 47 “top priorities.” If everything is urgent, nothing is ordered. A Product Goal plus one explicit order forces the conversation people are avoiding: what matters most now, and what can wait?
Your backlog isn't your product strategy.
If you're spending more time grooming tickets than deciding what matters to customers, it's time to rethink Product Ownership.
In Fearless Agility's live CSPO workshop, we practice product thinking: understanding customers, shaping a Product Goal, and making real value tradeoffs. No slide marathon.

Neuroinclusive teams create more than one way to think out loud. Before a hard decision, let people write first and discuss second. You reduce interruption pressure, preserve quieter ideas, and improve the quality of the conversation.
