🚨 β€œWE HAVE ZERO TOLERANCE FOR QUACKERY IN LAGOS!” β€” Dr. Olawale Oladapo The message is loud, clear and uncompromising! πŸ”₯ As concerns continue to grow over fake nurses, unlicensed practitioners and illegal nursing training institutions, Lagos State is sending a strong message: Quackery has no place in nursing! Speaking in an exclusive interview with Fellow Nurses Africa, Dr. Olawale Oladapo, Secretary of the Lagos State Nursing and Midwifery Committee, reaffirmed the state's zero-tolerance position on quackery. But beyond the declarations, one important question remains: How effectively are we translating zero tolerance into enforcement, accountability and patient protection? πŸ€” At Fellow Nurses Africa, we believe protecting the integrity of nursing is not just about defending a profession. It is about protecting lives. πŸŽ₯ WATCH THE INTERVIEW! πŸ’¬ LET'S TALK: Do you think Lagos State is doing enough to tackle quackery, or does enforcement need to go much further? πŸ‘‡πŸΎ Share your thoughts in the comments. πŸ“’ See something suspicious? Report it! Our new Confidential Quackery Reporting Portal is now live at fellownurses.com. Together, we can expose quackery, protect patients and defend the nursing profession. #FellowNursesAfrica #StopQuackery #LagosState #NursingAdvocacy #PatientSafety

How to Handle a Patient Having a Seizure 1. Stay Calm: Remain composed and reassure people around the patient. 2. Protect the Patient: Remove nearby sharp, hard or dangerous objects to prevent injury. 3. Lower the Patient: If standing or sitting, gently guide them to the floor. Protect their head with something soft. 4. Loosen Tight Clothing: Loosen tight clothing around the neck to make breathing easier. 5. Do Not Restrain: Never forcefully hold the patient's arms or legs during the seizure. 6. Nothing in the Mouth: Never insert fingers, spoons, cloth or any object into the patient's mouth. 7. Time the Seizure: Note when it starts and how long it lasts. 8. Position After the Seizure: Once the jerking stops, place the patient in the recovery position (on their side) if they are breathing normally. 9. Monitor Vital Signs: Assess airway, breathing and circulation. Monitor oxygen saturation and vital signs as appropriate. 10. Allow Recovery: Stay with the patient, reassure them and allow them time to regain full awareness.

As a nurse, your impact isn't measured only by how many patients you attend to, but most importantly by how you treat them.

🚨 FINALLY, WE ARE TAKING ACTION! AND WE ARE NOT SLACKING! Rivers State is taking a step towards tackling quackery in nursing practice, and this is the kind of proactive action we want to see across the country. The Rivers State NANNM Committee is calling on registered nurses, student nurses, midwives and members of the public to report facilities involved in training and utilising unqualified auxiliary nurses. If you have credible information about such facilities, this is your opportunity to speak up. πŸ“Œ REPORT HERE: forms.gle/4k7KGgPXr8a1ZwjPA Every other state should follow suit. We cannot afford to fold our arms while unregulated training and the misuse of unqualified personnel threaten professional standards and patient safety.
