A collector asked me how Feral File uses IPFS. I couldn't show her what her art actually depended on. So we audited all 39,967 works we've published. 22,214 still have artwork files that resolve only through our infrastructure. We made it public before fixing them all. feralfile.substack.com/p/wha…

– Do you have digital displays at home showing works from your collection? Do you have any aesthetic preferences or particular styles that resonate with you? ✦ @G4SP4RD - Yes, I do. At home, I recently set up a screen with an FF1 computer by @FeralFile, and I find the combination really beautiful. For a long time, I was looking for a satisfying way to display digital art, especially live generative art. Before that, the experience often felt too technical, not fluid enough, or difficult to control. With the FF1, I feel that many of those problems are solved. It is designed specifically for digital art displays, and you can feel that in the experience. The works run smoothly, and the mobile app gives you control in a very simple way. That matters a lot to me, especially for generative art. A generative piece is not always meant to become a screenshot. It needs to run, to evolve, to exist in time. I also sometimes print digital works on different physical supports, mostly static ones. I like the idea of living with the work physically, while the blockchain keeps the certificate of authenticity and provenance. As for aesthetics, I noticed something over time. At the beginning, I was collecting very instinctively. But when I look back at my collection, I can see that certain palettes and moods keep coming back. I’m especially drawn to sunset-like palettes: warm oranges, reds, pinks, purples, sometimes soft blues, often connected to landscapes or atmospheric scenes. There is something calming in those works for me. They probably reflect a part of my personality. I think I’m attracted to digital works that create an atmosphere. Something warm, contemplative, maybe nostalgic. Works that you can live with, not only look at once. ▼ Isoglyphs of Disobedience #65 ▼ cut me like a knife, by @ariasixthousand ▼ Summer Daydream #39, by @ElsifThen

On Public, Networked Art and the FF1 Art Computer The FF1 plays public, networked art—i.e. works created to run in a web browser, and registered on public blockchains. These are the artworks you can explore through aggregator sites like Raster, Verse, OBJKT, and OpenSea.

Maya Man’s StarQuest is endlessly brilliant! My episodes are linked, so clicking on one will play all eleven episodes, each time in a new random pattern. I love them more each time I view them! StarQuest is a definite standout for 2025! ✨🙌 @mayaonthenet 🫶

StarQuest's medium is not video!!! It's generative software. Each token on @FeralFile includes a custom web-player that algorithmically sequences all Scenes linked to an on-chain address to create a generative Episode. Here are 5 Scenes, link to stream in browser below...
