The kick change is a changeup variant where a spiked middle finger “kicks” the ball’s axis forward.
Fastball arm speed + changeup spin + splitter style depth = a harder pitch that drops more than a traditional cambio.
Check out this nasty @keenan_masters kick change

Your command isn’t as bad as you think 🎯
Not only is it trainable in the long run, but there are probably strategy tweaks you could make right now that would show up on field immediately.
Great new blog from @Travis_Sawchik in the qt below ⬇️
What command actually is and how to better train it. My latest for @drivelineBB w/ @cwhite23_ ... drivelinebaseball.com/blogs/…

Low Days should be renamed exploration days. Put your body in positions/tasks it has never solved before. Make your brain learn something new. One, because it will allow you to become a more robust mover, and two, it is fun as hell. Going to need to have fun to stick around.

3 years ago, I started at @DrivelineBB
I didn’t even know if I wanted to be a hitting coach.
And here we are.
These are 3 of the biggest things I’ve learned in the last 3 years 🧵
"Getting hot at the right time" is one of the most repeated phrases when it comes to playoff baseball.
I pulled 25 seasons of MLB data (no 2020) to find out if it's actually predictive, or just something we say when a team wins it all. 🧵
Maybe it's not raw win% but running hot relative to your own baseline that matters.
I subtracted each team's full season win% from their window win%.
WS winners: +.023 above their norm
Rest of the playoff field: +.021
The signal disappears when you control for team quality.

Depending upon your role, the game demands the following:
🔘500-700 throws per week
🔘2,000-3,000 throws per month
Your throwing program should ensure the first time you hit these weekly and monthly volumes is NOT in the month of June

"Driveline" has become a verb dadcoaches and uneducated fans sling around as a synonym for... well, who knows really. Whatever they don't like, I guess.
What does "Driveline" really stand for?
Simple: Writing things down, continually.

Austin Riley in the last 6 years:
'21-'23 - 4.9 WAR/600, .382 wOBA
'24-'26 - 2.0 WAR/600, .319 wOBA
He's gone from one of the best hitters in the league to an average player, what changed?

‘27 RHP Alejandro Diego (FL) tosses up a quick 0 here in relief. Overpowered & worked strictly w/ the FB at 88-90. Ball is taking off up from long 6’7” frame, young for the class. @PG_Uncommitted #WWBAWorlds @Florida_PG @ftbteams
The solution to throwing harder is often times right in front of our faces.
How do I throw harder?
Train to throw hard and watch the results speak for themselves.

Gone are the days of "getting a MoCap" and being ahead of the curve
Whether its through a facility in a bullpen or using in-game data, the edge is no longer having Motion Capture data - its how you use it

Don't forget these shapes too👀
19-year-old Cleveland second-rounder Will Hynes throwing gas, aiming for 95+.
Best fastball of the pen graded 64 on the 20-80 scale.
Stuff grades weigh movement as well as velocity, so a harder fastball doesn't automatically grade better. His best fastballs had a better movement profile at a comparable velo, and that's what separated their grades.
