Always check the weather forecast before a hike! Dress in layers, pack the right supplies and be prepared to enjoy all that nature offers. Visit ngtrails.ca for local maps and information. #TrailTipTuesday

Welcome winter birds to your own backyard when the weather keeps you from the forest. Create your own bark butter feeder by hollowing out spaces in a piece of wood, fill with a suet cake mixed with natural peanut butter and watch them enjoy their treat!

There have been a few black bear sightings on the NG Trails. If you encounter a bear, back away slowly - do NOT run and do NOT approach the bear!
Be safe #NorthGrenville. @ONresources

Here's a tight little snow piece that I painted, after a perfect day of x-country skiing in the Ferguson Forest, a few years ago. So lucky to have a 4-season space like 'the Ferg' nearby. @FFC_Kemptville @FergusonFriends 🎨🖌️

#BirdsofPrey #FunFact: If a bald eagle loses a feather on one wing, it will shed a feather on the other wing in order to keep its balance. 🦅

It's #NationalBirdDay! We recommend getting #outside, doing some #birdwatching, or learning more about the species native to your area. Do you have a favourite #bird species?

#WorldSoilDay 2019 is dedicated to halting #soilerosion, something that our trees play a key role in! In fact, forests are very important for overall soil health – they stabilize soil, prevent erosion, enhance water absorption, and moderate temperatures. Photo by @UTRCAmarketing

#DYK - a grove of aspens in Utah is the largest known living thing on Earth, with nearly 50,000 stems protruding from a single root system. The entire organism covers over 100 acres & weighs 6,000 tons. Our forests are amazing! #ItTakesAForest to inspire awe.
