Boarding Life at Fettes

Our Prep boarders enjoy busy weekends and this one was no exception. On Saturday, the keen rugby followers from Arran and Iona Houses set off for Murrayfield to watch Scotland retain the Calcutta Cup. Their weekend also included a talent show and trip to the cinema on Sunday!🌟

The Prep boarders took part in some fun activities this weekend. ⛳️🏃 Whilst Iona House headed out to test their skills during an afternoon of crazy golf, Arran House went to Xtreme Combat for outdoor Laser Tag fun and games.

On Sunday, the Prep boarders from Arran House visited the Escape Rooms where they were put into teams and challenged to find their way out. One team were victorious! 🌟 Meanwhile, the Iona House girls enjoyed some shopping and energetic roller skating at Ocean Terminal! 🛼👏

The Prep boarders had an action-packed weekend! 🌟 They dressed up to visit the senior school boarding houses for trick-or-treating, enjoyed a firework display on Saturday evening and spent Sunday afternoon at Murrayfield to see Scotland win their fixture against Australia. 🏉

Yesterday, the Arran and Iona boarders had a fabulous afternoon of water sports at Port Edgar.🛶 The sea was calm and with the beautiful backdrop of the bridges they enjoyed paddle boarding, canoeing, and sea-kayaking. The platform jumping competition was hotly contested too! 👏

Over the weekend our oldest pupils took part in leadership training. 🐝 After some campus-based exercises on Saturday we spent Sunday at the Scottish Outdoor Education Centres site at Broomlee, taking part in a variety of challenging activities. A lot of fun was had by all!🐝

The Arran and Iona boarders had a fantastic day out at Gullane Beach this weekend. ☀️⚽️🦀🍦🌊 They swam and splashed in the sea, played endless beach games, explored the rock pools, and were treated to delicious ice cream in the late afternoon sunshine.

The Arran and Iona boarders experienced a weekend to remember in the Cairngorms! ⛰️☀️⛺️ They have been camping at Badaguish and from this base have taken part in zip-wiring, river tubing and many more activities, which has been an absolutely brilliant experience for them all.🌟

Our boarders enjoyed a wonderful day at Gullane Beach on Sunday.🐝 We rushed into the sea before exploring rock pools, playing beach games, building sandcastles and sand sculptures. The ice cream at the end of the day was a delicious treat! Read more here: bit.ly/3tSvESa

Prep boarders in Arran and Iona, have joined the #boardinggoesgreen Challenge. 🌍 The challenge is for schools to join together to walk the equivalent of the distance across Africa by undertaking a series of tasks.🌳🚶‍♂️🏃‍♀️ The boys started by running and cycling a combined 10km!👏

Our Prep boarders had a fabulous day of fun, soaking up Sunday's sunshine together. ☀️🐝☀️ The first activity of the year took place on Bigside and involved a delicious BBQ, games of frisbee and croquet and, highlight of the day, a giant water fight which was enjoyed by all!
