The Chapel Choir is out and about doing some outreach today. This morning, we're at @cargilfield!
Here's a little taster for the Nine Lessons and Carols on Friday, taken at this morning's rehearsal. 11:00am at St Cuthbert's. Music by VW, Warlock, Darke, Bruckner, Willcocks etc and lots of great congregational carols. All welcome!
Through one office window this afternoon, early Autumn colours; through another, Sofia E, Hector W and Felix A are rehearsing string trios.
It's Field Day, which gives some of our senior musicians chance to get stuck into some serious rehearsals for the Autumn Concert. Here are Larry W and Risako T having some coaching with Mr D on some Shostakovich.
Some lovely singing from the Chapel Choir this evening, with music by Bruckner and Bainton, especially when they’d come scurrying in from other energetic activities on a really busy Sunday!
College Chapel is at 7pm. Our traditional season-starter Anthem, Parry's 'I was glad', will be joined by Rheinberger's 'Abendlied' as the Introit.
We're back! And the first delivery of the year is a batch of replacement Chapel Choir folders so that we can continue to sing smart! Thanks to @greshambooks doing such a great job on them!
Rehearsals over! Here are Meg, Scarlett, Ines, Marcus and Ava. Good luck to everyone performing this evening!
It's Leavers' Recital day! So we're at @CanongateKirk with some of our amazing U6th musicians rehearsing. They're sounding ace! Here are Aidan, Charlotte and Emily. More to follow....
It's ABRSM exam week at Fettes, and we have nearly sixty pupils taking exams over three days - everything from Grade 1 to ARSM. Good luck to everyone squeezing in that final preparation before Wednesday!
We had a brilliant Solo Singing Competition last night. Congratulations to everyone who was in the final, especially to those folks who were Winners or Highly Commended! And thanks to our fantastic adjudicator, Elizabeth McCormack, for her inspiring thoughts.
