Another long winded post from someone who'd rather take time complaining on wowtwt instead of, you know, PLAYING THE GAME. Otherwise they'd be grinding the many things outside of Raid and M+ in Midnight. They will make the same post about Forever.
Retail WoW has become so obsessed with respecting your time that it forgot to give you reasons to waste it.
Give me artifact power, Molten Front dailies, Netherwing rep grinds, Suramar progression, and Isle of Thunder.
I miss logging in and having a bunch of shit to work toward that wasn't just raiding, M+, or PvP.
Give me evolving zones, meaningful reputations, hidden secrets, long-term character progression, and rewards actually worth grinding for.
I'm not asking for mandatory chores or endless grinds to stay competitive. I just want to log in, find something I want to work toward, and lose six hours because I'm having fun.
And "go play Forever" isn't an answer. I don't want a different version of WoW. I love Retail's combat, class design, and challenging endgame. I just want that same game to have a world worth spending time in outside of raids and M+.
Give me shit to do that can't be completed an hour after the patch drops.
Perfect example of what's wrong with wowtwt. Retail WoW can be played in every way people want to play Forever. "Retail is a job" complaints are from people who FORCE themselves to clear all weekly content, skipping what doesn't give a power boost. They'll do the same in Forever.
At its peak, World of Warcraft had more than 12 million people paying every month to live in the same world. By 2014, over 100 million accounts had been created. In 7 days it comes back as WoW: Forever.
Retail turned into a second job. Weekly vault, a rating to keep up, and the fear that skipping a week leaves you behind. You queue from a city, run the dungeon with four strangers, and they leave without a word.
WoW was a game you played because you liked being there, whenever you had a free evening. A stranger helped you with an elite quest in Stranglethorn, and a week later you were in his guild. You spent Friday nights together wiping in Molten Core with 39 people you had never met, and some of them became real friends, the kind you later met in person. Whole servers spent months hauling copper bars and bandages to Ironforge and Orgrimmar so the Gates of Ahn'Qiraj would open. Guilds stormed Orgrimmar to kill Thrall and Stormwind to kill Bolvar, and half the server dropped what they were doing to defend their city.
It was more than just a game.
It was an entire world, populated with real people playing in it.
That's the game I want back on November 4.

Outside of the story not being connected to Xala'tath in some way, my guild and I have enjoyed S2. Complaining about filler content in .5/.7 filler patches is weird.
Its just trendy to make posts whining about parts of WoW and A LOT of creators go out of their way to do so.

Its 8 weeks into the season. All content was able to be cleared before any boosts in power created specifically for those still trying to clear endgame content. You either need it, or don't. Nothing is holding anyone back from any breaks except the need to hate post about Retail.
