People always go to extremes instead of acknowledging that the vast majority of people in the US should eat less meat. We don't have to go vegan. Have meatless Mondays. Act like you got some sense!

on god that’s the BEST comparison out there. If you think boycott is effective when it comes to a genocide, and practice it, but then tell vegans «not buying meat/animal products wont change a thing» then you might go to a macdonalds and be consistent for once.

you don’t even have to value human and animal lives equally to know that slaughtering, torturing, and raping trillions of animals, just for you to eat them when you could eat vegan, is unnecessary and wrong. you can make more ethically sound choices to not contribute to that.

I think the reason this rubs so many people wrong is because especially on the left a lot of y'all are used to being morally superior to the average person jyst for believing in the right stuff and this points out a behavioural moral flaw that threatens that superiority complex

i eat meat rarely, but i still do sometimes. there's many dishes that are culturally important to me that are meat based. i would prefer if the meat was cruelty free, but i would not forgo those foods to prove my morals. it's just too inconvenient
