Most on-farm trials don't fail because of the product. They fail because of no structure and no follow-through.
The checklist every one of our trials runs through at a high level, protocol to report:
✅ Protocol set (one question, not five)
✅ Growers recruited
✅ Applied + documented
✅ Data collected, cleaned, standardized
✅ In-season field visits
🟩 Harvest data (where we are right now)
🟩 Analysis + results back to the grower

Horizon DSX seed goes in the slot, not on top of the trash. Depth holds from the knoll to the soft spot.
We’ve been demoing it on Ontario farms. The growers who dig behind it already know if it fits.

Ontario CCA is currently conducting a survey of growers, employers of CCAs, industry stakeholders, and current CCAs to evaluate the organization and direct our next strategic plan.

Phosphate Dynamics Look Bleak
Last week, Mosaic shared that North American phosphate application fell nearly 15% last year due to demand erosion and is forecast down another 20% this year, leaving cumulative application more than 30% below normal.
"Excess” soil phosphate removal has reached 1.4 million tonnes of DAP equivalent in the US according to Mosaic. On top, executives peg the potential global supply shortfall at up to 30 million tonnes of lost production this year, depending on the sulfur disruption's duration.
Mosaic's stated that they expect years of "revenge fertilizer application" once the bounce comes, akin to post-COVID revenge travel.
Mosaic has dialed back production at their Faustina facility entirely, Bartow back 40%, New Wales and Riverview in the mid-70s.
If we begin to look at the phosphate pricing for moving forward, it doesn’t seem like there will be any price lowering anytime soon given challenges in the Strait of Hormuz and the idling of plants by many phosphate manufacturers.
