If you're not feeling well...in general...I have heard that putting the lime in the coconut is good for that...and to get a coconut, you need a coconut tree...I'm just saying.

At the expense of me+my kids, despite mountains of evidence, Dave Ramsey protected my ex-husband + gaslit & slandered me.
The damage to me+my kids has been incalculable.
Only for them to reap $$$ for 2 more years.
To find out everything I said was true. And. Then. Some.

Interesting piece by @drmoore in @CTmagazine about why people struggle to get out of toxic environments.

Regularly scheduled reminder: women are only 13% of sole/senior pastors nationwide. So just because "I know a clergywoman" or "there were a lot of women in my seminary class" or "my denomination ordains women since 1804, etc." doesn't mean we're equally *able* to serve, #Church.

@johnpavlovitz shares how the “non-religious community are building the #redemptive community many disenfranchised with mainstream #religion want. FYI @FigTreeTweet is one example of this #truth in action! – at Georgia, USA
The skeptics, backsliders, doubters, heretics, apostates, and "sinners" are building the redemptive community the world needs. It was the plan all along.

This is exactly how this needs to go. It would be so blasted offensive for this tree to be all stately and beautiful and perfect while we’re all falling over and splitting limbs left and right. This tree has empathy, dadgummit. And I’m here for it. This is our 2020 mascot.

One of the hardest things about losing your faith commmunity is seeing all the pictures on social media of the events you used to be invited to with the people you used to love. Even though trauma has turned me into an introvert- the extrovert inside is devastated every time.

St. Benedict said "Always we begin again." As one who suffers with mental and chronic illness, healing is often more rebuilding than anything. Illness lays waste to my life again & again.
Healing is surrendering to the death of things that will never be & beginning again anyway.

I see reviews of the decade about to end and different cultural milestones that defined us but I believe few moments represent the '10s better than this: a common person taking a complex task in their hands with no skill or preparation delivering a perplexing result for posterity

I wish we didn’t think it was ok to volunteer in order for our privileged children to get some sort of lesson.
People experiencing poverty aren’t projects. Nor are they lessons for our youth.

Nothing on earth can make sober people drunker than being invited to a table where they can sip on power. It is a drug like no other.

When Christians claim persecution for what is little more than loss of privilege, we minimize the real persecution our brothers and sisters in Christ face all over the world today.

Any “Christ” that can be invoked in support of white nationalism is a false Christ of the highest, most hellish order. An anti-Christ. A wholly-opposite christ. No such christ is the Christ Jesus of Scripture who taught His followers a love that sacrifices life & limb for others.

It is in this evil world we must stand strong. It is in this madness we must think soundly. It's amid these dangers our hearts must neither melt nor harden. It's here & now we who follow Jesus must be brave & bold in love & truth, defending the defenseless & not the indefensible.
