We just open sourced the UpRock Fuel engine for Android. Here's why it matters, and why we need @GooglePlay @GooglePlayBiz help. 🧵 Google flagged our Android app as malware (case 3-2652000041782). We believe it's the Fuel engine, the sandboxed runtime behind our distributed web research network. Agents are expensive. Every time an agent researches the web, compares prices or monitors a page, someone pays for the compute and the connection. That's why most consumer agents cost $30 to $1,000 a month. Most of the world can't pay that. This is the power of a distributed network. Our community knows what DePIN means. We've been upfront about it from day one. Distributed networks already power inference, compute and storage. We apply the same idea to agents: millions of real devices complete web tasks for each other, so your agent can work all night, crawling the web to find you a better price on those shoes or tracking whatever you care about. You earn rewards for contributing. You spend them on an agent that works for you 24/7. That's how community-powered agentic AI becomes accessible worldwide. Our mobile-first Fuel engine makes this safe. When tasks run on devices owned by real people, safety has to be built in at every layer: Signed: only UpRock can create a task, and every task is verified on the device before it runs. Anything unsigned or tampered with is rejected. Sandboxed: tasks run in WebAssembly. They can't start processes, can't save files after they finish, and their network connections are blocked from your local network. Encrypted: every task is encrypted and only delivered to the device assigned to run it. That protects users and the people whose tasks run on the network. Readable: every task carries a manifest that says exactly what it is and what it's allowed to do. And we didn't just describe it. We published the code, plus a list of what isn't enforced yet. No hiding. Now, back to the hard part. Google flagged our Android app as malware, and we believe Fuel is why. Play Protect is uninstalling UpRock from users who chose it, understand it, and have told us publicly they want it. @google We build in public. Not a new appeal, just an update on what we've done. Our asks: 1. Let us resubmit without Fuel engine, the same way we did on iOS. 2. If Google still doesn't want us in the store, that's your call. But a store decision is different from labeling us malware and a "fake" app. Please remove the label.
