People like @RyanMcbeth *should* know about Kessler Syndrome and Russian ASAT capabilities. It wouldn't take a lot of effort on their part to effectively deny space access to everyone on the planet. For at least a generation. I worked on the USASMDC KE-ASAT program a long long time ago, late 90's. Back then the idea was to try to develop an "inflatable fly swatter" to swat enemy satellites whole out of orbit so as not to cause debris. The Russians, on the other hand, don't give a shit about the debris, and never did. I like driving around with gps.
