Open Letter to the Nigerian Youth of Unbending Integrity: Lessons from the Osimhen Jersey Giveaway
Dear Nigerian Youths of Conscience and Courage,
I write this as a finance educator who has watched our national conversations with hope and concern. The trending Osimhen jersey giveaway – a generous gesture funding ₦300,000 worth of jerseys for 15 beneficiaries – began as pure kindness. Yet handling issues around distribution, delays, quality concerns, and public reactions turned it into a powerful mirror for our collective character. What should have been a simple blessing sparked debate, exposing deeper truths about how we manage trust, opportunity, and public goodwill in Nigeria today.
This episode is a living parable for our nation – a microcosm of daily choices that uplift or erode.
Integrity is the only currency that never depreciates.
When trust is placed in our hands – whether ₦300,000 or far larger sums – the test is simple: deliver exactly as expected, without adjusting for personal comfort. Even small compromises erode public confidence. Integrity is the daily refusal to bend; in a country where shortcuts are normal, your unyielding honesty is the revolutionary force that rebuilds trust.
Business must be built on ethics, not expediency.
This was a golden chance for value creation and goodwill. Execution challenges highlight how good intentions can be undermined by shortcuts in quality, transparency, or process. True enterprise honours the trust given: deliver superior value, communicate openly, and protect the giver’s vision. In Nigeria’s trust-scarce environment, ethical business is the only sustainable path to growth and reputation.
Leadership is stewardship, not control.
The urge to centralise for fear of mishandling reveals a common trap: believing power must be hoarded to protect image. Real leadership empowers others to fulfil the original intent, stewards resources faithfully, and passes blessings onward without ego. When opportunity finds you – in business, community, or public service – ensure the blessing reaches its destination intact.
Corruption begins where small compromises are excused.
The subtle dilutions and delays we saw mirror the start of our larger national ailment. If we cannot handle modest resources with absolute fidelity, how can we be trusted with billions in public funds or youth empowerment? Corruption is the “Nigerian factor” that begins in everyday transactions. Our generation has the tools to break this cycle. Reject corner-cutting as “smart”; true smartness makes integrity the default.
The other pillars: Gratitude, accountability, unity, and relentless growth.
Gratitude honours the giver. Accountability turns mistakes into lessons. Unity calls us to rise above tribe or clout for higher standards. Educate yourselves in ethical practices and transparent execution. Use this moment to model the Nigeria we want – where small acts of kindness are done with excellence and every opportunity builds national progress.
Fellow youths, the Osimhen jersey giveaway was never just about fabric or ₦300,000. It was 15 chances to spread joy – and a reminder that Nigeria’s real battle is the poverty of character. When your own “jersey moment” arrives, let history record you chose delivery over drama, integrity over image, and collective greatness over convenience.
Rise above the noise. Steward every trust as sacred. Rebuild what we have too often broken.
With deep conviction and hope in your potential,

Men are suffering in silence, even here in Naija.
There should be a platform where men can open up and talk about what they're going through.
I was at a gathering recently when one of the guys stepped out to take a call. His closest pal noticed he'd been gone a while and went to check on him.Found him across somewhere crying , he was on the phone with his wife, begging her not to leave, but she moved out anyway.
When he came back and told us what happened, other men at the table started opening up. Out of the 8 of us, I was the only one without issues at home.
One broda said to us “bro , I haven’t been intimate with my wife for 2 years and we live in the same house ” Another man said “me and my wife live like strangers in the same house, we no Dey talk” others too started opening up .
Omo, men are carrying a lot beneath the surface. 💔
Men hide their feelings under the guise of ego .
If you're going through something, talk to someone. Your silence is not strength .

🚨 A VOTE OF NO CONFIDENCE, AND QUESTIONS THAT DEMAND ANSWERS!
The reported vote of no confidence against APC National Youth Leader, Dayo Israel, has given a new political dimension to the earlier allegations of financial inducements involving state youth leaders.
If the alleged ₦30 million monthly payments and ₦5 million allocations were merely rumours, the party leadership must help clarify the situation. But if these allegations are true, then the timing of this development raises legitimate questions about the motives behind the exercise.
Is this a genuine expression of dissatisfaction, or are we witnessing a carefully orchestrated effort to manufacture dissent within the party's youth structure?
Let me be clear: a vote of no confidence is not, in itself, proof of financial inducement. However, the coincidence of these developments warrants a transparent investigation rather than convenient silence.
In politics, dissent is legitimate; but when allegations of financial inducement precede a coordinated political action, the responsibility to establish the truth becomes even greater.
The APC cannot afford to confuse manufactured rebellion with genuine grassroots dissatisfaction. If the party is serious about internal democracy, it must be equally serious about investigating any attempt to compromise it.
The question is no longer just who has lost the confidence of the youth leaders. It is whether that confidence was freely withdrawn or allegedly influenced by interests operating behind the scenes.
The party deserves answers, not a choreographed silence.
🚨 ALLEGED PLOT AGAINST THE APC NATIONAL YOUTH LEADER!!!!
Disturbing information reaching me now suggests that some interests within the corridors of power may be mobilising state youth leaders to orchestrate a vote of no confidence against the APC National Youth Leader, Dayo Israel, tomorrow.
Even more alarming are allegations that participating state youth leaders have been promised ₦30 million in monthly running costs, alongside ₦5 million monthly allocations for senatorial youth structures, allegedly extending until the 2027 elections.
If these allegations are true, Nigerians and, more importantly, members of the APC deserve to ask some uncomfortable questions. Is this genuine accountability, or an attempt to manufacture opposition through financial inducements? Why should resources allegedly be deployed to undermine the party's own youth leadership instead of strengthening grassroots mobilisation?
Nobody is above criticism, and no leader should be shielded from legitimate scrutiny. However, there is a fundamental difference between holding a leader accountable and allegedly organising a coordinated rebellion against him.
At a time when the APC should be consolidating its youth base ahead of 2027, any attempt to weaponise internal structures for personal or political vendettas risks deepening divisions and eroding the confidence of young party faithful.
If there are genuine grievances, let them be presented transparently through the appropriate party channels. If there is evidence of wrongdoing, let due process take its course. But if these allegations of financial inducement are true, then the party must not look the other way.
The APC cannot preach unity while tolerating practices that could undermine it from within. Our youth structures must not become instruments of political manipulation, and internal democracy must not become a casualty of competing interests.
The question is simple: are we building a stronger party, or are certain interests willing to weaken its youth leadership to advance their own agenda?
The party leadership must pay attention. Silence in the face of credible allegations could have consequences far beyond tomorrow's meeting.

*APC YOUTH LEADERS PASS VOTE OF CONFIDENCE ON DAYO ISREAL, DECLARE SUPPORT FOR HIS LEADERSHIP*
We, the Youth Leaders drawn from across the country, including Deputy National Youth Leader, Zonal Youth Leaders of the geopolitical zones of Nigeria and Senatorial Youth Leaders of the All Progressives Congress (APC), represented by the undersigned; hereby affirm our unflinching support for the National Youth Leader of our great party, Hon. Dayo Isreal, and passed a Vote of Confidence on his leadership.
1. We observed the concerns expressed in some quarters over the social media post on the distribution of campaign mobilisation vehicles to selected Youth Leaders across the country. While we noted that the announcement may not have been wittingly received by everyone, we equally noted further that, the gesture itself deserves commendation. The beneficiaries, who are genuinely party youth leaders have over the years demonstrated commitments, made sacrifices and worked tirelessly to advance the cause of the party cannot, and should be denied the celebrations of the gesture.
2. For years, one of the recurring concerns among party faithful has been the inadequacy of the reward system for those who dedicate their time, resources and energy to the growth and electoral success of the APC. In appreciating this reasoning, we consider Hon. Isreal’s facilitation of these mobilisation vehicles is a welcome development that serves as morale booster and ease of movement for the beneficiaries in mobilizing young Nigerians and party members across the country. Rather than condemn an initiative designed to strengthen grassroots mobilisation, encouraging efforts that recognise loyalty, reward sacrifice and enhance the capacity of youth leaders to deliver on their responsibilities cannot be vilified.
3. Beyond the Prado SUVs, we are proud to further acknowledge the earlier intervention of Toyota Hiace Buses to Deputy National Youth Leader, all the six Zonal Youth Leaders of South West, North East, North Central, North West, South South, South East as well as FCT Youth Leader. These Youth Leaders have since been carrying out their responsibilities and mobilisation movements in ease. Other numerous initiatives undertaken by Hon. Dayo to empower young party members and leaders also include at least 100 Nigerian youths, who have benefited from overseas capacity-building and training conferences, among other programmes facilitated under his leadership. We also know that the APC Youth Wing now has a well-equipped youth resource centre, the first of its kind, and has become a hub of activities and engagement not only for the young party members but also for meaningful numbers of Nigerian youths. These achievements represent significant strides in youth development and institutional capacity-building within and outside the party.
4. It is also imperative to note that it is not a coincidence that last Monday, 19th October 2026, at an event organised in Abuja by one of the APC support groups, CityBoy Movement, our Father, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR, particularly singled out the positive efforts and strides of Hon. Dayo Israel as APC National Youth Leader on youth development.
5. In view of these efforts, we reject any attempt to unfairly discredit Hon. Isreal or undermine the progress recorded under his stewardship. We hereby pass a resounding Vote of Confidence in his leadership and call on all skewed stakeholders to deeply reflect and not allow themselves to be used by what we observed as the "within but behind the scenes forces" who have been wishing forever to manage, by all means, the affairs outside their ministries. This Dayo Israel's "Gospels" has come to stay, and letting the cat out of the bag isn't now. The wisdom in Dayo Israel's successes as APC National Youth Leader is instructive in Quran 4:54 and Proverbs 27:4. We particularly nonetheless, call on those expressing genuine reservations, to embrace constructive

From the accident, she has fractures in her hand, leg, and pelvic region. The doctor said the surgery will cost about ₦5 million. It is extensive and will be done in two phases.
First they will operate on her hand and leg. When she recovers from that, they will do the pelvic region.
It has been a painful experience. We have already spent so much on drugs and medications just to keep her stable this far. The pain is still there every day.
A lot of you have followed this from the day of the accident. You have seen the updates. You know what this has been like.
