On this day in 1942, Lucy Parsons passed away. Born into slavery, she became one of the most radical voices for labor rights, anarchism, and free speech in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. She fought for workers, women, and marginalized groups - challenging capitalism and state oppression at every turn. Despite constant surveillance and censorship, she never wavered. Her words and actions continue to inspire us today. “Governments never grant rights. They can only suppress rights.” - Lucy Parsons

AVLFBU & WNC Tenant’s Network are issuing a call to action for folks to show solidarity & support for housing vulnerable communities in the wake of #HurricaneHelene . Folks can show up to the Buncombe County Courthouse at 10AM October 16th + more in graphics
