Ignoring the unlikeliness or likeliness of each scenario how would you prefer the Eagles season to end.
A. Eagles go 2-8 in final 10 games to finish 4-13 and secure a top 5 pick, Saquon never gets healthy, Smitty gets shutdown, Jordan Davis and Jalen Carter continue to be disappointing following massive extensions, Cooper DeJean continues to look bad. EDGE rushers continue to no-show.

B. Eagles go 8-2 in final 10 games to finish 10-7 and win NFC East before losing to Seattle Seahawks in the wild card round. Saquon and Smitty get healthy and start to produce elite numbers. Carter and Davis look like their 2024 & 2025 selves, Cooper DeJean regains all-pro form. Jalyx Hunt starts to live up to offseason hype and Greenard stays healthy and starts producing.

The 2024 championship team needed Saquon Barkley in free agency due to poor drafting. AJ via trade due to poor drafting and Zack Baun in free agency due to poor drafting.

The 2024 class is way closer to the “norm” than it is the anomaly.
Howie has never been known to be a good drafter but he’s very good at correcting those mistakes via trade or free agency.
He’s a WR1 but not an X receiver so it complicates things. In an elite offensive scheme there would be no question on if he was a WR1 similar to Puka.
The responses to this are part of the problem with football discourse today.
Jason Avant was the clear WR1 at Michigan for those wondering.

The NFL hasn’t gifted us a Cowboys playoff hatewatch in 3 years. A small side of me is actually hoping they are the team to win the NFC East and draw the 2nd place NFC North or NFC West team in the wild card round.
Players dropping like flies a week into the season, I don’t think you can blame that on the pace of the game.

I do think the Eagles have the personnel to switch to a 4-3 defense and I actually think Jim Schwartz could be great for Jalen Carter. Takes no bullshit and won't put up with the lack of effort.
I'd be very intrigued to see Carter as a pass rusher in a 4-3, wide 9. I think Jordan Davis can play in a 4-3 as well.
Contractually, the Eagles are only tied to Jonathan Greenard long-term at EDGE as far as scheme fits go. He had 12.5 sacks playing in DeMeco Ryans' 4-3 with the Texans in 2023.

Vic Fangio seems tapped out. His defense is certainly playing like it.
If Nick Sirianni returns in 2027, he should put the full court press on to hire Jim Schwartz as defensive coordinator. I'd be interested to see how Jalen Carter and Jordan Davis can play in a 4-3 defense.
