The US has a system known as accrual payments (Retired Pay Accrual) that does come from their DoD. The fund is listed on the Treasury's books but payouts are made by DFAS which is part of the DoD. This is them paying into a fund *explicitly* for pensions.

Do other superpowers like usa count pensions in defence budget?

I want the PM of my country to be a courteous & diplomatic man when dealing with foreign powers even if he actively hates them. There are many important criticisms to make of Modiji but this isn't one. He should be praised for how well he acts even with brats like Trudeau.
"My dear friend" for the left outside. "Anti-national" and "terrori$t" for the left inside. Waah Modi Ji! Waah!

1. Agnipath savings haven't even kicked in yet. 2. I used RE just so you won't whine that the RE last year was higher. 3. The GOI did inject funds for capital outlay despite pensions predicted to *grow* YoY. 4. Maybe spend 5 minutes Googling before faffing.

the money saved from pension went to equipment purchase and modernisation right ? RIGHT ??!!

I now know what Ed Zitron feels like. Mahadeva bless this country
Any money saved on defence and pensions will go to SC ST anyway. Let's not choose this minute to start pretending like we're a serious country.

To anyone who is sceptical of why Agniveer is needed, run these two prompts by an AI model of your choice: 1. What % of India's Defence Budget is Pensions & Salaries? 2. If you remove this amount from the budget, what is the total defence spend as % of GDP?
The Indian Army gave Modi govt a severe-dressing down!! 🔥 The "Agniveer Recruitments" weakened the Indian Army to such an extent we can't even imagine. > No one is ready to marry his daughter to Agniveers because of the elimination of pension scheme and short service span. > The Indian govt is compromising India's security. > Well trained Agniveers are being released when they are fully prepared to defend India. > And the most significant concern is that, currently almost all of India's neighboring countries are hostile towards it. Yet we are being forced to discharge well-trained Agniveer soldiers who are highly skilled in combat operations within regions like Kashmir and the North East's valley areas. Then how are we to deal with these hostile nations?

I meant Agnipath & not Agniveer, my apologies.

The damage activists masquerading as journalists have done to the profession in mortifying. You genuinely wonder if the people are on crack half the time or just incompetent mercenaries.

The Indian position should be a feeling of relief that we have someone who's amenable to working with us when it comes to trade & big ticket defence deals. The whole "warra leader" slop is just unbearably irritating given that leftism is as useful as a torn condom.
He supports Palestine though if that's what you care about

Lula prop in Big 2026 as Indians. At least the Bibi simps have something to point to in Herut/Gahal/Likud social & economic development of Israel. What's Lula's accomplishments? "Oh! I made my mediocre country stay mediocre but I give good speeches & revdimaxx. Now smd."

Hinduism in Kashmir was systematically genocided by a foreign religion (that Gazans also follow) & Hindus who want to rebuild it are dehumanised by labels like "Nazis" & "Settlers". Some corner of West Asia gets b-mbed & it becomes the great moral crisis of our time.

> Goes to a country of 6 million people > 3/4 of the country is ethnic Chinese > It's a de facto one party state > Has a wonderful time > Says it was a cultural shock "as an Indian women"
Cultural shocks I got in Singapore as an Indian women: > I could walk and cycle at 3am, all alone, didn’t turn back once to see if someone is following me > clean AF toilets! Every single washroom I used was super clean, even the one in a random mall > $2 fresh orange juice after cycling at 3am > dress as short and as low, ppl flirt but no one makes it creepy > I loved following every traffic rule. No jaywalking at all even when there is no car at red light > The ppl are super friendly and helpful, no one gave me a single uncomfortable stare, even in very local markets

Isn't Sarvam quite good? Heard it was among the better models for math.
Is India developing any AI LLM that can compete with leading models like Claude, OpenAI’s ChatGPT, Google’s Gemini, and DeepSeek?

We don't live in a Democracy, we live in a Republic. Republicanism only works if the leaders/elites steering the ship come from a societal elite that is not simply competent but also shares a deep commitment to the the country & a common culture to emanate from.
I write on Sharjeel Imam as a committed democrat who deserves a place in a radical democratic project of the future, one focused on the liberty and equality of all. telegraphindia.com/amp/opini…

Literally all this does is make Israelis more right wing & more extreme in their COIN strategy. This is a slow motion replay of what happened after the 2nd Intifada. It shifted the whole country rightward.
🚨 BREAKING: An American activist confronts a group of Israeli tourists and tells them: “I can smell the killers of my children. You Israelis are not welcome here. You stink because you reek of child killers. Fuck everything that comes from you.”

It's morbidly funny how everyone is now bracing for hostilities to restart between Iran & Israel-USA, not in some panicked dreaded sense but in an altogether familiar routine manner. "Oh! Yeah, oil markets are going to go up in flames but whatevs."

I really wish the mainstream media starts drawing maps. Terms like Indian land, 6-7 kms into Indian-perceived LAC are highly confusing and throws people into panic. The following discourse will run on our media after this: "China has captured Arunachal Pradesh".
🇮🇳🇨🇳Details of INDO CHINA FACEOFF via The Hindu: Since late July, India and China have been engaged in a stand-off at Asaphila near Taksing in Arunachal Pradesh. The Chinese People’s Liberation Army (PLA) have pitched their tents at an elevation,

The central thrust of Elon's Indian supporters was that India would retain control over the use of SpaceX in India. We now know, definitively thanks to the Ukrainian misadventure of Elon & the USG, that this is a bold faced lie.
NEW: Trump called Musk and asked him to lift restrictions on a military-grade version of Starlink in Ukraine that the SpaceX chief had throttled, U.S. officials said. The system was working more normally Thursday, shortly after their conversation, per Us and Ukrainian officials

That "10 protestors vs 1 CEC supporter" video is just pure comedy gold. He's the most vanilla right of centre dude you'll meet. Probably watches puppy videos in his free time. He annihilates all of them with the most simple questions I've ever heard asked in a debate.

I'm genuinely glad officials in this country see the war not as a sports match with teams to root for but as a world event to learn from. Too much of our information space has been polluted by morons unable to check their biases from interfering in their assessments.
India's ITBP DG Shatrujeet Kapur on use of drone "Ukraine is smaller than Russia, but Russia is facing 10,000-15,000 losses of men a month. Iran challenged US. We need to go to drone" Vdo csty: ystyd speech at ITBP event
