Artists, actors and athletes as well as their industries which are three of the most globally influential, need only do one, simple thing.
Be consistent in applying human rights.
Sadly, Ed Sheeran is the opposite.
Quick to advocate for Ukrainian lives, rightly, then framing advocacy for Palestinian lives as ‘political.’
While in the latter case, framing silence as neutrality.
Silencing human rights advocacy, including calls to prevent or end genocide, or allowing that advocacy to be silenced where Sheeran has direct influence and leverage, is not neutrality.
It’s choosing which lives are important, and which are not.
The only neutrality is to apply the same rules to all states, and all peoples, without exception.
That’s all that artists, actors and global sport need to do.
Which lives are at stake, should never make a difference.

Greenland has universal healthcare. Free education. One of the lowest incarceration rates in the world. Nobody goes bankrupt there because they got sick. Nobody dies in a waiting room because their insurance said no.
