Someone needs to look into a "Son of Columbo" idea, in which Columbo's Son (played by @MarkRuffalo, naturally) returns home after his father's tragic death. He stands to inherit "Dog" and THE CAR™️ and an aging Mrs Columbo. Unwilling to desert his mother, he moves back home.

He gets recruited to the LAPD where he tries to fill his father's (quite scuffed) shoes . Hilarity ensues!
Guest stars will play devious villains, Columbo Jr wears his father's jacket like a good luck charm, Dog continues to be Dog, and oh! Just one more thing!
