U.S. Ambassador @GovMikeHuckabee says Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu and other top officials have assured him that the settlers who brutally attacked American journalist Heidi Levine in the West Bank will face justice.
Huckabee calls the attack “criminal” and “stupid”—and vows the U.S. will keep pressing for “serious consequences.”
But will the attackers actually be held accountable? @MargaretHoover presses him on #FiringLine.
In 1972, on the original #FiringLine with William F. Buckley Jr., future Israeli Prime Minister Shimon Peres warned that abandoning Israel would mean abandoning the ideals of the free world.
More than 50 years later, as American support for Israel declines, especially among younger generations, Ambassador @GovMikeHuckabee rejects the argument that Israel itself has abandoned those ideals.
“They’re simply wrong,” he tells @firinglineshow.
But can Israel count on the next generation of Americans to agree?
Same enemy. Same interests?
As the U.S. weighs renewed military action against Iran, Ambassador @GovMikeHuckabee tells @MargaretHoover that American and Israeli interests are “identical.”
Pressed on whether that’s always true, Huckabee doubles down, arguing that Iran threatens both nations.
Always available. Endlessly patient. But is a chatbot a friend?
@AdamMGrant argues AI companionship is missing something essential: the chance to give, not just receive. “By definition, a relationship is a two-way street.” #FiringLine
What is a vibe?
"It's basically a dynamic that comes alive in interaction," says @AdamMGrant. "It's the energy you feel when you're clicking with somebody and you feel like you have chemistry and closeness."

William F. Buckley Jr. often said he would rather be governed by the first 2,000 people in the Boston phone book than the faculty of Harvard University.
Now @AdamMGrant takes a page from the original #FiringLine host’s phone book—and applies it to reforming Congress.
“I would rather be governed by the first 535 people in the phone book than by the elected members of Congress.”
"You don't necessarily need one best friend," says "Vibe" author @AdamMGrant.
"You need a couple companions, you need a bunch of pals, you need some allies, and you should look to different people for each of those things."

Does calling masculinity “toxic” do more harm than good?
“It’s immediately alienating to men,” says @AdamMGrant. “To call a man toxic is either going to lead him to feel ashamed of his gender or it's going to lead him to basically withdraw from the person who's accusing him of being toxic. ”
Grant explains why he prefers “precarious manhood”—the idea that masculinity is hard to win but easy to lose.
Should children have unsupervised access to AI?
"Of course not," says organizational psychologist @AdamMGrant.
"We should not be letting kids loose to use a technology that may be more powerful than anything we've ever created in human history."
"I obviously think we need government regulation," says @AdamMGrant regarding artificial intelligence.
"We know how to do regulation. We know how to do independent auditing. We know how to do compliance. It is long past time to start doing that."

What message does our failure to hold powerful men accountable for sexual misconduct send to younger men?
"Unfortunately we've created a world here in the U.S. where the more power and status you have, the more likely you are to get a pass," says @AdamMGrant.

The cure for connection.
Dr. @AdamMGrant, this week on Firing Line with @MargaretHoover.

You have friends. But do you have a community?
If your friends don’t know each other, who rallies them when you need help? @AdamMGrant explains the hidden gap in our social lives—and why introducing your friends to each other could make a bigger difference than you think. #FiringLine
"Human interaction is messy. It's awkward. It doesn't always go as planned…," says @AdamMGrant, author of "Vibe."
"And I think too often we stay polite and we go through the motions as opposed to taking the risk to be real."

"I think people associate connection with harmony. They think that we're supposed to get along and keep the peace all the time, and that's wrong," says "Vibe" author @AdamMGrant.
"Harmony is not everyone playing identical tunes. It's the pleasing arrangement of different notes."

Your phone keeps you scrolling. Your political party keeps you loyal. But what keeps you connected?
@AdamMGrant takes on AI “friends,” the pressure to fit in—and why he’d ban fraternities “in a heartbeat.” The author of “Vibe” and @Wharton professor on what brings us together and what tears us apart.

What keeps AI CEOs up at night?
@AdamMGrant says their biggest fear is that “... bad actors are going to build versions of these models that are going to be much more harmful to humanity than the ones they're building."
Should colleges ban fraternities? “I would ban them in a heartbeat,” says @AdamMGrant.
In the wake of the Cornell rape allegations, the organizational psychologist--who argues we need to bring groups back--says fraternities should go.
“I think if we're going to have all-male groups, I think we need more adult oversight. I think it's just too common, unfortunately, for groups of men to get together and start to normalize behaviors that are morally wrong and that are harmful to others.”
About 50 members of Cornell’s Chi Phi fraternity reportedly knew about the alleged rape in their frat house, yet they said nothing. Why didn’t anyone speak up?
“Unfortunately, a lot of young men are afraid that if they deviate from the group, if they blow the whistle, that they're going to be ostracized and they're going to lose their community,” says @AdamMGrant.
“I've been frankly outraged and disgusted by how few men have spoken up about this.”
What does it take to connect in a lonely world?
Organizational psychologist @AdamMGrant, author of "Vibe," explores the science of human connection--and how it applies to politics, AI, and masculinity.
