Nothing does the soul more good than the sound of running water, the rustling of leaves, the chirping of birds and the smell of the forest. We should spend our lives in nature more often than at home in front of the computer or television.πβοΈπΏπ±π³π²ππ

Please help bees, butterflies and birds by reducing the mowing this year! By leaving a patch of grass in your garden to flower you'll be helping wildlife while reducing effort, cost and carbon emissions. Cartoon courtesy @sepponet

Night thoughts
A bee lives for 4 to 6 weeks, during this time it produces no more than 1 teaspoon of honey. To do this, it has to fly to up to 3000 flowers a day and cover around 800 km during its entire life. Just a teaspoon of honey for us, but a whole lifetime for the beeππ

Dear councils, 97% of UK meadows are gone. So if you have wildflowers like ox-eye daisies on roadverges and in public spaces, don't spray them with weedkiller or over-mow them. Let's give pollinating insects like bees and butterflies a chance π

In 2022, we partnered with 8 organisations to investigate the use of latrine rafts in detecting water vole presence. This innovative method proved to be quick and efficient, and we're excited to expand the latrine raft trial this year.
