A TRANSPARENT public audit of every federal, state and local program must be demanded by every citizen.
Demand full financial audits and real oversight of every major federal program!
Federal agencies sent out about $186 billion in improper payments in 2025 alone. That money should never have left the door.
1. The dollars.
About $153 billion of that was overpayments. Since 2003, the running total is near $3 trillion.
That is money that could have gone to roads, veterans’ care, or cutting the debt — not to billing errors and fraud.
2. Who gets hurt.
When the wrong check clears, less is left for people the programs were meant to help.
A clinic, a school, or a family waiting on real aid gets shorted.
3. How we fix it.
GAO already has open fixes that could save $100 billion or more — stronger payment checks and better data sharing.
Close those recommendations. Stop paying for the same mistakes twice.
This is not left vs. right. It is about protecting taxpayer money.
Demand full financial audits and real oversight of every major federal program.

Washington DC does pass its own laws.
During Covid it passed laws to reduce the police force and create alternative policing plans. Both were complete failures of leadership.
Do we want more of this flawed decision-making in the Senate?
This is why DC does not deserve statehood.

Washington DC does not generate anything for the national GDP. Nearly every dollar made and spent here is a product of the national taxpayer — federal employment, grants, contracts, think tanks, lawyers. All dependent on every taxpayer in the country.
For people who rely on the American taxpayer to demand more power to spend other people’s money is unreasonable.
DC has one of the highest tax burdens in the country and the worst results on crime, education, and city services. It survives on the American taxpayer, not the competence of its leaders.
Tourism? Twenty-seven million visitors spending eleven point nine billion — drawn by the Mall, the Smithsonians, the monuments. All federal. Hotels, restaurants, cabbies are a derivative of federal real estate.
Charities? Over half of federal grant dollars flowing into DC go to nonprofits. Nonprofits are over a quarter of private employment.
The metro? Direct federal civilian jobs are nearly ten percent of DMV employment. The Capital Region’s federal share is above ten percent versus under three percent everywhere else. Forty-one percent of DC residents work for the federal government.
The inversion matters most. Every other city rises or falls with the productivity of its people. DC rises or falls with appropriations bills. Residents are tenants, not citizens, in the economic sense.
When the government shut down thirty-five days in twenty eighteen, DC shrugged — because its prosperity is tied to federal payroll, not federal output.
The government’s own accountants confirm it. Government added forty-five billion in real value in twenty twenty-three — a quarter of DC’s GDP. Professional services ranked second at thirty-eight billion, but that’s firms whose clients are overwhelmingly federal.
Strip out the federal layer and the pyramid collapses. In twenty twenty-five, DC lost thirty-two thousand jobs — the only jurisdiction in the country to shrink. Unemployment hit six point seven percent, highest in the nation.
DC pays sixty thousand in federal tax per person and gets seventy thousand back. Net taker at a dollar seventeen. The lowest ratio among major takers — but still a taker.
Statehood locks that in with two more senators.
Madison wrote in Federalist forty-three that exclusive federal jurisdiction would keep any state from dominating the national seat. He didn’t foresee seven hundred thousand residents voting ninety-plus percent one direction. The twenty-third Amendment patched a hole. Congress still holds the purse strings. The design produced exactly what it was meant to prevent: a captured city.
Statehood isn’t representation. It’s giving voting shares to people whose income depends on the company’s decisions.
DC doesn’t deserve statehood. It deserves accountability.

Washington DC is one of the most expensive cities in the United States to live.
If you can’t afford to live here, you shouldn’t live here. There are much more affordable places in the United States to live.
This goes double four people on public assistance. If the only jobs you can find, don’t pay the rent, move.

If we print $4 trillion out of thin air annually, we shouldn’t be paying income taxes at all.

It’s exhausting, dealing with people without imaginations:
Getting unstuck from a ditch.
Getting out of a snow drift.
Correction while hydroplaning
Jump over a crash in front of you.
Get off the railroad tracks.

It isn’t the money!

Mississippi spends below the national average and ranks in the top 10 for reading.

However, it is not fascism to blame everything on white men or Christianity.
Kidding, of course, when the country was blaming everything on white men and Christianity, certain members of Congress did nothing to condemn those words. Despite swearing an oath to a constitution that’s based on equality.
What’s even more remarkable is this kind of talk was most prevalent during a period of equity and inclusion.

Charles Allen’s response is a key indicator that the city council has no faith in Trayon White.
It also suggests they have no faith in the DC justice system. Or it’s people to make a sound decision.
