I've lost a lot of people along the way, but this one was particularly hard to take. Clever, funny, very naughty, and, to say the least, never a dull moment. His wife asked me to take the funeral and to tell stories about him. I could have gone on for weeks.
I don't know much about the situation in Israel; I haven't studied it enough to talk about it. But this is pretty clear-cut. Her actual words were: “Well, it's a trick; we always use it. When from Europe somebody is criticising Israel, then we bring up the Holocaust. When in this country [the US] people are criticising Israel, then they are antisemitic.”

SCRUB ALERT from the Ministry of Mandom. Bronson is the nuts in the best of the franchise, Death Wish 3. Interestingly, the movie's hand cannon, a massive, gas-operated .475 Wildey Magnum, was actually Bronson's own personal weapon. Jeez, imagine carrying that in every landom!

MOSQUE APPLICATION – ROMFORD ROUND 2
Thanks to your help, I'm fighting this planning application to create a "mosque and cultural centre" at the former Page Calnan building in Romford (222-226 South Street).
I want to have another go at it, because the decision was due in March and it's still undecided.
I want the Council to know that time passing doesn't mean opposition has died down.
The news report here shows we've already landed some blows, and I want to keep them running: romfordrecorder.co.uk/news/2…
It would be a big, unpleasant forward base in Romford, and we need to keep the pressure up.
I'm asking for another £2000, to pay out of pocket expenses to resist it.
I'll understand if people can't donate a second time, and I might be able to make up some of the shortfall from saved funds. But I will appreciate help with it, if you can.
As usual, none of the money goes to me but on the costs of fighting this application.
