When I look in my crystal ball, this is a defining moment in architecture. Consider this evolution no less significant than touch tone was to rotary phones, digital data services were to analog, and the evolution of a desktop computer to AI in the cloud. This enables so many new markets, it's unfathomable. From a public safety perspective, enterprises can now establish a network with a direct connection to state next generation 911 core services or to third-party service providers that aggregate that traffic into the ESInets. Even today, carriers like @TMobile have direct NG911 Phase 2 compliant connections to the Massachusetts NG911 core. That revolutionizes the whole picture from the top down.

Yeah, now that they're forced to...the spinoff from Starlink competition is growing by the day

Thank you, @BrendanCarrFCC , for this advancement in connectivity. Free and open internet from space will not only be revolutionary for providing users with service in a disaster, but will also let 911 ECCs stand up operations when terrestrial services are in failure mode. Space is the new frontier for many things, including connectivity.

Approving this $40 billion investment in spectrum is a great deal for the country. Faster speeds, increased coverage, stronger competition, and innovative new services direct from next-gen satellites straight to your smartphone.

Swatting has changed. It is no longer just a false 9-1-1 call. Today’s incidents may involve spoofed info, false identities, bad location data, digital breadcrumbs, and threats designed to force immediate action. The call may be fake, but the response is real. Thank you @BrendanCarrFCC for A.) Securing the free and open internet for Americans, and B.) Supporting FACT BASED DECISIONS on infrastructure and technology that delivers it shore to shore and beyond.
Under President Biden, the FCC revoked an $885 million award that Starlink won to provide high-speed Internet to millions of Americans. Back then, the agency claimed that it was revoking the award because it was unlikely that Starlink could provide 100/20 Mbps service to 40% of locations by year end 2025. I dissented at the time, explaining that the FCC's decision could not be squared with any objective application of law, facts, or policy. The data clearly showed that Starlink was on track. Now, new Ookla data shows that well over that percentage of Speedtest user on Starlink did meet the 100/20 service level by year end 2025. The Biden era decision to revoke the award only slowed down efforts to bridge the digital divide and raised costs for doing so. ookla.com/articles/starlink-…

I remember transporting Aunti who was madder than hell that she had to sit in the back seat of a ‘73 Ford LTD. Did THAT count?
A momentous couple of weeks on the roads of Europe: 12 metric tons of KitKat bars were hijacked; priceless works of art by Renoir, Cezanne, Matisse, and more were stolen; and now, @CERN scientists "successfully transport[ed] antimatter in a humble box truck for the first time."

I, for one, have to question why an entire statewide network investment of $450 million needs to be "scrapped". Seems highly suspicious that hardware and network facilities need to be disposed of to build a new solution that works. Logic doesn't add up. I was told this was just a software issue and that introduced an interoperability problem. It'll be good to see why this failed, and why it can't be fixed without a #forklift. Thanks for taking on the effort @BrendonCarrFCC
In 2019, Governor Newsom promised California that he would fix the state’s failing 911 system. He even spent $450 million to build a new one. But when it came time to turn it on, it did not work. Newsom is now scrapping the plan, the $450M is apparently gone, & he’s going to spend millions more. Meanwhile, Californians remains stuck on the antiquated 911 system due to Governor Newsom’s $450 million 911 scandal. I have written Governor Newsom to get answers, given the FCC’s interest in facilitating transitions to next-gen 911 systems.

I also, "find tinsel . . . distracting." Headed to the crawlspace now. Merry Christmas, @AjitPai.
After a year of much annoyance and irritation, the day is finally here—and the aluminum pole retrieved from the crawl space. Happy Festivus! I got a lot of problems with you people, and now you’re gonna hear about it! cc @FestivusWeb youtu.be/XAzUmsQjt0Y?si=7An2…
