Having grown up in the 70s and 80s - the one thing that Bitcoiners should know about the standard of living - it didn't change much. Most people had the same appliances in their house for decades - they didn't redo their kitchens, finish their basements, retile their bathrooms - these things just were not done. Nobody flew on airplanes unless it was life-or-death necessary and there were no luxury cars. My father was a PhD working for Bell Labs and drove a Ford Pinto for most of my childhood. Nobody got year end bonuses - most people did not have discretionary savings -they had their company pensions and the social programs that are now bankrupt. I'm glad to go back to that time under a hard money but people should understand what it's really going to be like
