This Neighbours episode, written by the legendary Marie Trevor, never fails to make me laugh. I posted the beginning of this episode a little while ago, and here’s one of the funniest scenes featuring two absolute icons of Australian television—Anne Haddy and Vivean Gray. Their chemistry was brilliant, and the comedy was perfectly timed. It’s moments like these that remind us why the early years of Neighbours are still so loved. And let’s be honest… the Mrs Mangel painting has to go down as one of the most iconic props in Australian television history! Who remembers this classic scene?

Scott Major (Darren Stark/Lucas Fitzgerald/Director) will be joining us at the Goodbye Lassiters Event on Saturday, 5 September 2026. More announcements to come over the coming weeks! Limited General Admission tickets now on sale! Link to tickets in comments.

Amazing footage from the Neighbours launch party in Sydney after Channel 10 picked up the series. People often ask why the launch was held in Sydney. It was actually a smart move by Channel 10 to help build a bigger audience in the Sydney market at the time. Check out this great interview with the legendary Myra De Groot, talking about Neighbours during the launch event. A fantastic piece of Australian television history!
