Fun fact: After the BOJ rate hike, Thailand has the lowest rate in Asia.
Asia rates remain extremely low (1% BOT, 1.25% BOJ, PBOC 7-day reverse repo is 1.4%). Many countries at the 1% handle. If you want to know why credit spread is tight globally, look no further.

The answer used to be "Not much." That was pointed out by Sebastian Hillenbrand in "The Fed and the Secular Decline in Interest Rates". The red line is (cumulative) what happens to the 10-year yield around FOMC meetings. The blue line is what happens on other trading days outside of the FOMC window. It's flat.

Alan Greenspan has died at 100. During his 18½ years leading the Fed, he reached rock-star heights and shaped the U.S. economy under presidents of both parties. Milton Friedman called him the greatest of all time. 2008 recast his legacy.
