But is that what Floridians want? Two years ago, a majority of Florida voters, 57%, voted for a constitutional amendment to allow abortions up to about 24 weeks. Of course, in Florida, it needed 60% to pass. Uthmeier, however, does not appear troubled. Instead, he is confident in his own sense of right and wrong, his own personal sense of morality, and he appears willing to use his office to push those views on others because he believes he is driven by something more powerful.
