Honoring the heroes of 9/11 who risked it all. 🇺🇸 As we reflect on the 22nd anniversary, we remember the sacrifice made & the courage shown. We stand proud, dedicated to keeping our firefighters' turnout gear in top shape, ensuring they are ready. #NeverForget #911Anniversary🚒🔥
"Machine laundering and wet soap PER methods were effective in reducing surface contamination and appeared to prevent accumulation of contaminants after repeated exposures. " What does this mean? Simple - WASH YOUR GEAR! #DidYouDecon #ReduceTheRisk

Another day, another extractor properly set up. When extractors are not correctly programmed & the wrong chemicals are used to clean #turnoutgear it can damage gear. We can evaluate your set up, make recommendations & implement a plan so you can be #NFPA1851 compliant.#bunkergear

The link between firefighting & cancer is real, it's killing FF's at much higher rates than the public. The 1st week of the FFCAM shows why cancer is the #1 line-of-duty death cause –the scope of the problem. Learn more at: conta.cc/3GtO8St . #FFCancerMonth #FightFFcancer

The 2020 edition of NFPA 1851 redefines exposure to products of combustion as "contamination" & requires advanced cleaning. #Carcinogens can become lodged in the fabric of your turnout gear and cannot be removed with just a normal wash & laundry detergent. #HealthyFirefighters
Knowledge is power! Thank you to Maitland Fire Rescue for hosting the classroom portion of our NFPA 1851 class. Hands on training was also included!
