ALT JOKE-OGRAPHY: In this cartoon, we see the beginning of the Parable of the Ten Virgins (Matthew 25:1-13), where the girls are all gathered with torches in hand, awaiting the groom. One loud girl among them complains about the groom's lateness and asks a fellow bridesmaid for extra oil to keep her torch lit. When that fellow bridesmaid says she can't spare any, the loud girl simply decides to go buy some for herself, confident that she'll be back before anything important happens. She even leans in to jokingly say, "OIL be right back!" which is a play on, "I'LL be right back!" This is funny, because she's going off to buy oil, and "oil" sounds like "I'll" said with an accent, so instead of saying, "I'LL be right back!" she says, "OIL be right back!" She is locked out of the wedding feast upon her return.
