A good friend reminded me how important it is to keep moving forward no matter what. Thanks bro So here's to Commandant Maksim! The most relentless coyote in Wildwood !

It's a good thing I didn't voice curtis in wildwood because it would have been all "Prue look!- its coyotes! AND THEY'RE HANDSOME"

Maksim & Dmitri - to me, are a clever examination of how a person deals with their nature. They're opposite sides of the same coin and they're beautifully devised. Lets start with Dmitri

On a related note, as a first gen. American kid in the mid-west in the 90 to early 2000s, my parents went out of their way to make sure I wasnt too cultured. I was not to stick out or give anyone any reason to not choose me because I wasn't -American- enough.

*let me elaborate on this- my immigrant parents were doing their best to give their kids the best shot at success in the country they were born in.

I see this mirrored in my sibling who took her own life after institutionalization and 7 years of dealing with bipolar. After she was institutionalized as a teenager she tragically would always refer to herself as "broken". In this I saw Alexi's horror in his mechanical body.

As a whole, the motivations and story of the Governess, Alexi, and the main Coyotes from Wildwood is tragic AF and cuts uncomfortably deep for me personally. I forgot the point I was gonna make but I hope it was an interesting read. If you made it this far, you're a real one!
