BREAKING: A Pentagon intelligence report now directly describes Iran as an "emerging" space power capable of challenging U.S. military operations across the Middle East, despite American strikes on key Iranian space facilities, per the DIA via Axios. The report says Iran took offensive action against U.S. space capabilities during the war, using land-based jamming systems to degrade GPS signals. U.S. officials are also alarmed by Iran's use of space intelligence to strike military sites more accurately, aided by satellite support from China and Russia. Tehran operates roughly a dozen satellites—compared to the U.S.'s thousands. But analysts are questioning U.S. "space superiority." Todd Harrison of the American Enterprise Institute told Axios: "If Iran can degrade U.S. space capabilities, we don't have superiority… It's like declaring air superiority when the adversary is consistently able to shoot down your planes."
